Here is a bronze mermaid in front of the Lobster Trap restaurant in Oxnard, California that has been there since 1967.

It was called the Summer of Love that year. I'm not sure whats happened here since but here is an example.

Above the door is a painting of a mermaid by my mother Ione Keenan who designed and decorated the Lobster Trap in 1967.
The painting originally showed nipples which someone has since painted out.

Above is another painting that has also been altered. The painting below is how she originally painted the mermaids.

The bronze statue had her nipples ground off and a top welded on sometime in the last forty years.

Thread death...... its pretty common this time of year. Gets passed around like a cold or flu virus.

Its pretty simple to get over. Get some sleep and take lots of rum. You can use gin if you want, but it is not quite as effective in the winter months, something about the reduced sunlight....
