While we're on the topic of tv tiki...
I was watching an episode of ER, the one after Dr. Green died in Hawaii. (I was surprised to learn on that episode that he surfed)To mourn Dr. Green's passing the crew of docs and nurses went to a full stocked tiki bar called the Lava Lounge. Now, there is a Lava Lounge in Chicago that I looked up but it is not a tiki bar. I don't think that the bar was the Hala Kahiki either. It really looked too elaborate to be a set, but... who knows... any one else see this???

I saw it....it was probably a set at Warner Brothers in Burbank, where they film the show. They do some location shoots in Chicago, but it's mostly outdoor stuff like the el trains. For indoor shoots, it's probably cheaper for them to build a set than to film in Chicago.
