The Voodoo Island party looks great! It's too bad that the Tour de Fat in Ft. Collins is the same day. Decisions, decisions.

Tomorrow night 8/8 at Bender's Tavern, 2 hours of Tiki themed burlesque! 8:30pm, $10!

I love all things tiki and burlesque! Join me for a few favorite numbers and an all new tiki number! Plus lots of lovelies will be joining me on stage-
Orchid Mei, Anabella Lafontaine, La Petite Mort, Snowy Mountains, Frenchie Renard, Eve Vette, Victoria Pneumatica, and our stage kitten Pepper Palermo!

....and a couple newbies, my newest Queen students will open the show!

Hello, is the newsletter mentioned in an earlier post still alive? I started collecting about two years ago and although I knew about Tiki Central, it never occurred to me to search for Denver events. I hope to meet some of you in the future.

Aloha Denver tiki tribe:

Here are some events happening in June that TC members might be interested in:

June 20 the Adrift Bar is having a one year anniversary party. More information can be found at:

https://www.facebook.com/adriftbar?fref=ts

June 22 the Piilani Hawaiian Civic Club of Colorado is hosting its bi-annual Ho'olaule'a. This is not necessarily tiki but it is a celebration of the Hawaiian and Polynesian culture. It runs from 9:15 AM to 7:00 PM with booths selling merchandise and food. On the stage is entertainment with music and dancing. I will be playing Hawaiian steel guitar at 10:30 AM with a group called the "Opihi Boys." The location is in Highlands Ranch at the Civic Green Park. They estimate that there will be between 6,000 to 8,000 visitors. Also the Denver Ukulele Community will be on stage at 2:25 PM. If you play ukulele bring it along. Stop by and say hello if you're there. I'll be helping out with the stage acts most of the day. More information can be found at:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Piilani-Hawaiian-Civic-Club-of-Colorado/181768071846949

On June 30th The Denver Steel Guitar group will be doing their 2nd annual show, Downtown in Denver at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret. There will be a few Hawaiian players as well as Hall of Fame member Scotty DeWitt from St Louis. More information can be found at:

There's Hawaiian music this Saturday at "The Shack Sports Grill" in Littleton.

If anyone is going to the Adrift anniversary party and can pick up a coconut mug for me it would be much appreciated. Let me know how much for mug & shipping and I can send Paypal or trade? Aloha

Tell us you saw this so we know your not a spambot.

I don't understand why people continue to promote things on Facebook so non-Facebook users can't even look at it. :-?

I've taken a look at the website, but I couldn't find out where this event is being held. Where is it?! I want to go!

The website says it's invitation only.

I RSVP and didn't get a response either.

Did anybody go to the 1-year anniversary party at Adrift last night? Can you post a few photos if you took them? There isn't anything on Facebook yet. I had to work and couldn't make it, and I want to live vicariously through other peoples' good times!

I emailed an R.S.V.P (per the website) and asked a few questions about the event, but haven't heard anything back. That was 10 days ago. Is anybody out there affiliated with Tiki Fest, or know anything about it? Where it is, who is putting it on, etc? It looks like a fun time!

Tiki-Fest looks like an exclusive event. It appears unless you're already invited, you're not going to be invited. :(

I wouldn't call it an exclusive event more like a high school clique. I went 2 years ago to a supposed open party they were having and spent about an hour and a half standing around with no one even saying hello to me.

About the facebook group I am the one that runs it.
Sadly I started it as an open group and people were joining in and spamming the other members with all kinds of trash so I had to shut it down to an invite only site.
Anyone can join facebook and use it as it was intended you don't have to let it consume your life.....

Our party - Tiki Fest - is open to anyone in the tiki tribe.

Scott - sorry you had a bad experience, but as the host and bartender I am stuck behind the bar most of the night and can't personally greet every single person that walks through the door. Also, this party is not just for tiki folks but for our friends and family as well, so I hope you can understand the nature of the event.

I apologize about the RSVP function on the site - it's not working. If you'd like to come email me at [email protected] and I'll send directions your way.

Cheers,
Erin Behrenhausen, aka "tikibeeyatch"
