YEAH!! But the only official word I can find is that Hukilau ended with this event. Is there some official word that Hukilau will continue? Christie said something along the lines of 'let me recover for a couple weeks and think about it' -- so I assume an announcement will be made at some point but I would wait for that before considering it gospel. But I am a cynic by nature. She was also promoting a new event in Tucson, AZ, for May 2009 called The South West Pacific (www.thesouthwestpacific.com) and I don't know if that would impact when and if another Hukilau would be scheduled. The entire event was charged with a jubilation and cheer. The seminars, the shows, the food, the drinks, the entertainment was all top-notch. Having seen the Mai Kai for the first time, I was absolutely speechless as I worked my way through the exterior, bar area, interior rooms and garden. The drinks were unbelievable. I took Beach Bum Barry’s advice and had the Black Magic. I loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed the company and experience. For all those that had a part, big or small in putting on this event – thank you thank you thank you! My only regret, not taking more time off.
