I'm feeling like revisiting drinks I've not had in a while (eg 2 weeks!), tonight's two:

Navy Grog (Dons)
Three Dots & A Dash

Ok, one last one:

El Dorado 15 :)

I am following Ad's lead...

No Grogs on the menu, so I went with a good ole Mai Tai.

Jungle Bird

Nother Mai Tai

Saturn - gin not rum but it might be my favorite... Between the 3 Dots & Saturn for the best.

Of special note is the Special Planters. A tribute recipe is finally perfected and posted today:

Okole maluna!

Drinking a new and improved Special Planters tribute right now, and it is very good. Thanks Hurricane!

Sadly, I had a bottle of bitters fall out of my overstuffed hooch cabinet tonight and land on and break one of my Kevin Kidney Hukilau snifters. I will probably need to drown my sorrows with another Special Planters.

Made my wife an “Acai Afternoon” to wash down our dinner of Huli Huli chicken and Vegetable fried rice. Forgot to get a pic of the rice.

Washed down the Key Lime Cake with milk.

Cheers

Luna- nice, have fun bruddah
Sunny- sorry for the loss
Nui- looks awesome sir

Hit Frankie's last night with TikiPops
Thanks again for the ...-

Continuing drinking those I've not had in a while, tonight's two:

Donga Punch
1934 Zombie

Followed by:

Angostura 1919 :)

Oooooooo, Angostura 1919 is one of my favorites!

I'm drinking a Floridita Daiquiri, shaken in a coffee travel mug.

At The Tonga Hut in Palm Springs in The Tonga Room....

1934 Zombie
Three Dots and a Dash

Great drinks, superior atmosphere, and interesting food...

Other participants beverages included TV Mai Tais and Chief Lapu Lapus...

Everyonce in a while, I reread a few pages of 'what are you drinking right now?' to see if I've missed any drinks worth trying. Reviewing the last ten or so pages, here are my findings:

I should post more pictures.

Mai Tais / Three Dots & A Dashes / Zombies are the most popular tiki drinks.
Beers, Old Fashioneds & sipping on El Dorado rums are popular non tiki beverages.

Dick Moano's 'Original Polynesian Tropical Bar Recipes' is a recommended purchase (a copy is on its way to me) :)

Hang10tiki is powered by cocktails & I want to know his secret :)

Lunavideogames is travelling the US going bar to bar & I want in :)
I agree Luna, the Saturn is crazy goooood! :)

Ok, I'll play along too....

Tahitian Punch, from the long gone Moon's Islander in Titusville, Florida. TikiTomD was kind enough to post pictures of the recipe file cards in this post:

http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic=26860&forum=1&start=15&hilite=moon islander

Relaxing in the backyard, under the "Huli-brella". I do have a few tiki mugs, nothing earth-shattering. They're all common and you've seen the like of them before, so I decided to give the ole "Playboy Club" stein a little love.

...and yes, Dick Moano's book is the sheet!

Whatever I can find....

Came across this forum quite a while ago....
http://marylanddctiki.proboards.com/board/4/honolulu-drink-recipes
Has drink recipes for the defunct Honolulu restaurant in Alexandria, VA.

I copied all the recipes and added to my collection. This evening, I prepared myself a Virgin Sour:

is that Horchata like Coquito?

here- a Narragansett Bock. they even have a goat on the can..

is that Horchata like Coquito?

Not sure, never had Coquito.

We do like the RumChata :)

mmmmmm....Coquito. It is Puerto Rican Rum Eggnog made with coconut milk.

Rumchata doesn't have the coconut aspect of Coquito. RumChata is rum, Cream, cinnamon, sweet rice.

From Beachbum Berry's "Potions of the Caribbean", VOODOO GROG. I cut back from 3/4 oz to 1/2 oz on the Allspice dram, because it's flavor can easily be overpowering. I also used honey mix instead of plain honey, home-made passion fruit syrup and 3 TBS of "All Whites" liquid egg whites.

That's one frothy and tasty drink!
