Their Mai-Tai
Just as I remember it
Yuck

So I asked the bartender to make this

He said "what, no juice??"

He did it

Then the people sitting next to us at the bar said

"We want that"

He made more

Another

Having a Mai Tai with just Coruba as I've seen recommended on here. Not bad but has nothing on a Clement VSOP/Appleton12 or ED12/Appleton12 combo.

Kkocka- yep, I couldn't believe it either

So jealous Jon!

My mai tai adventures was one of my favorite parts of our trip to Hawaii. We went to Duke's on Kauai but didn't get to the one in Waikiki. My favorite mai tai was at the House With No Key. :) Loved them so much went back on our way to the airport for our flight home! There were many other good ones but that's the one I liked best. Ah, the memories!!! Enjoy yourselves!

Derby Daiquiri.

Lori- it's on the to do list

Lori- wow
Good 1

Bum Barrel.

First time making this version. I accidentally top down blended instead of shaking and included the soda water with everything else before reading to stir that in after shaking. What is the advantage of doing that? Tastes fine, albeit frothy as can be.

Yep, have a set of six I picked up in Tulsa a few months back. The bamboo is raised from the glass giving it a nice grip.

Wow, haven't seen that yet. How do those taste, Haka?

It's the closest thing to Lemon Hart that I've ever tasted! This will definitely be the choice Demerara.

Nice! Where'd you find it? :)

This stuff is still in the shipping pipeline so I guess you could say this was a sneak preview. Ed Hamilton kindly shared some with me at 320 Main in Seal Beach.

Spice Barn

This is quality cinnamon and you can get whatever length you want. I got long ones for Swizzles, etc.

Note that we re-use them. Throwing them away after use is absurd. When I make cinnamon syrup, I use these and then break out a new batch.

It is particularly effective using them to swizzle a drink and in the Cobra's Fang, the last sips are very cinnamon and taste great.

Aku Aku Zombie, and I'll agree that its the best of the lot - much more refined and balanced. Cuts down the booze overkill while maintaining its flavor profile.

Thanks, will have to order some!

Trader Vic Mai Tai with Clement VSOP and Appleton 12 plus Creole Shrubb instead of curacao, BG Reynolds Orgeat and 1.5:1 sugar syrup.

My home grown mint supply is running really low. Those sprigs look sad and pathetic :(

Trying my first Sidewinders Fang. I like. Not used to that much soda water in a drink. Might dial it back a little next time or add a little more rum but this is definitely one I want to play around with.

Keep posting please.

Yeah, I'm always on the lookout for vintage glassware. This, however, is from Hukilau a couple years ago. They did a very nice job with the colors and graphics.

I so rarely get a chance to enjoy a cigar anymore. The wife used to tolerate them and humor me in our honeymoon years but that was a long time ago. Sitting on the back porch thoroughly enjoying a cool night, a Hemmingway Classic and a generous pour of Kirk and Sweeny. The rum is a touch sweeter than my typical sippers but it is a PERFECT accompanyment to the mild spiciness of the Hemmingway.
