The Below Decks, would love to see more pics of your pad. I'm loving all your posts in this thread and want to see more of your surroundings.

I'm enjoying a Mai Kai Moai, a creation by Hurricane Hayward for my Barney West inspired wedding mug designed by Tiki Diablo.

Mike, can you post the recipe for the Mai Kai Moai? I love those Plantation rums.....

H

Yeoman Grog from Atomic Grog.

Daiquiri night. Trying some different rum combos.

Crafted by Brian Miller of "Tiki Mondays with Brian Miller" (formerly at NY's Pegu Club and Death & Co.) at the "Evening of Tiki" in the Spare Room bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Wednesday, 5/13/15.

Hurricane Hayward will be sharing the recipe on the Atomic Grog blog soon. It's definitely in line with something the Mai Kai would have on their menu. I might tinker with it a bit to get it exactly how I love it and if I make changes from his posted recipe I'll let you know.

Hurricane using my newly-found La Cena passion fruit syrup.

Long time no post! His & hers:

A margarita & shot of AƱejo on the side for her, Mai Tai for me :)

Three Dots and a Dash in a Trader Vic's 80th Anniversary glass.

well, we been drankin Black-eyes Susana, the traditional Preakness Stakes cocktail. I hacked mine and used gin in leu of vodka, and added several splashes of lime.

now, a Victory sour cherry gose...

Daiquiri night. Again.

happy Syttenda Mai to my true viking friends. having a craft NĆøgne Ćø beer!

I'm a newbie tiki-phile but I'm doing pretty good with the Trader Vic's original Mai Tai. Made one just now for my wife and she says it came out almost as good as Trader Vic's. I'm having trouble getting that dark brown color but the taste is pretty close.

I used:

Myers
Mt Gay
Orange Curacao
Orgeat
juice from 1 lime
1/4 oz lemon juice (bartender at Trader Vic's gave me that tip if the limes aren't that juicy)
Half a lime shell and of course fresh mint from the backyard for the garnish

Tiki Phil - you're well on your way to a lifetime of cocktail joy!

Glad to have you here on Tiki Central. We were all new once, except for one or two here who I'm certain popped out of the womb with a cocktail in one hand and a carved tiki in the other.

Been making Mr. Bali Hai's like there's no tomorrow lately. Unsweetened pineapple juice, fresh lemon juice, homemade coffee syrup, Kahlua, silver rum, and Meyers dark.

There's just something about that sweet pineapple and strong coffee flavor together. Perfect cool down cocktail on a warm and muggy evening at the backyard tiki bar!

An Old-Fashioned Julep in The Below Decks!

Ever try the Castaway out of Remixed (I believe)?

Pineapple juice, Kaluha, Light rum. When I first read it, the idea kinda turned my stomach...pineapple juice and Kaluha??? But then I made one. Pleasantly surprised how well the flavors worked together.

Anyway, Sams Club has gotten in some champagne mangoes in. My wife is from the Philippines and says these taste closest to the ones she ate there. Made a Banaquiri (banana daiquiri) per the recipe in "Introducing Original Polynesian Tropical Bar Recipes" and chopped one of the mangoes up and threw it in the blender with it. Mango Banana daiquiri.

No, I haven't tried that. I have to get a copy of that book. I'll check it out, thanks!

I'll give those champagne mangoes a go too...sounds pretty good!

AceExplorer-Thank you for the warm welcome. Can't get enough Tiki lately!

Mai Tai from Latitude 29 over the weekend.

Navy Grog

Latitude 29 (signature cocktail)

Lapu Lapu bowl. Bought the last Bosko bowl for my brothers 30th.

I forget but it was tasty :)

This was amazing! Ultra hook up at Latitude. This is my to go Painkiller with Smith & Cross. It is on the menu which is actual full sheets of paper (8.5x11). This is like a 1 liter drink, to put it into perspective, ever get to go curry from a Thai food place? HUGE!
Then over to Cane & Table...

Trinidad Green Swizzle & a Plantation Pineapple

Guadolupe Ti Punch... Spendy because of the extinct rum they used but quite tasty!
Then over to Tiki Tolteca...

Jungle Bird with Smith & Cross. Broke my phone here :(
then over to Port of Call...

Port of Call (signature drink)

Dang, all of those look awesome. So very envious, yet enjoying vicariously! I had a couple of great drinks at Cane & Table when in NOLA last fall and definitely look forward to returning to the bar there.
Cheers!
:drink:

Kahiki Kais, served in a hollowed-out pineapple, with pineapple leaf and cherry garnish...that's what I'm drinking right now...and it's glorious!

In honor of the Tiki Ti reopening, and because of #pukapunchchallenge2015, a Puka Punch. On top of my newly purchased bar mats - how did I not own them before? Sheesh.

First time trying to make a Pearl Diver. Not sure I made the coffee grog batter right. even at room temp the stuff is a sticky gooey mess..

A

Conga Pete - I have followed this suggestion for how to make Pearl Diver mix & it worked better than my earlier attempts - I've tried out a couple of versions of the Pearl Diver now, I'm not a fan of either (too soft). I tried the Skin Diver last night, likewise a soft drink, the bitters adding a little spice.

But I've got to get me some of those glasses!

Tonight I had a Pearl Diver (to see if my mind had changed), Mrs AdOrAdam had a Hawaii Kai Treasure:

I also made a Atomic Grog's Mutiny with Kohola Bay - I'd made it before with the S&C / El Dorado 12 sub but hadn't been a fan, it's better with Kohola Bay.

For the last few weeks I have been drinking Boulvardiers like they've been going out of style (1.5 bourbon / 0.75 vermouth / 0.5 Campari / plenty of orange bitters, over ice) - a great drink if you like whiskey & Campari.

Otherwise I've been experimenting with my own tiki drink recipes - it's easy to knock together something 'ok' but harder to make something 'great'!

The latest effort:

Kkocka - I likewise got some bar mats a while ago, a good purchase that avoids condensation drips :)

H

AdorAdam Im having the Atomic Grog Mutiny but unfortunately don't have Kohola Bay in Calif. so I usually make it with S & C and ElDorado. Love this drink.

So I am guessing Sweet Vermouth?

Sounds like a drink I'll have to try!

Gorgeously perfect weather outside today calls for a POGmosa.

A couple more tonight:

Boulvardier & a home diaquiri recipe...

Followed by another Boulvardier & a Mojito :)

Puka Punch with a Daylily garnish.

Also a heavy buzz after one drink

Trying a Boulvardier. Not bad.

A Jet Pilot
