Pegu Club Cocktails. St George Botanical Gin , Blood Orange liqueur, and lime juice.
I like to add the bitters that some recipes call for.
Jon, dat Eastern Sour sounds delicious.

David- it was
Not much of a bourbon guy
But a friend from Chicago gave me a bottle
With the allspice it was good

Yours looks good as well

This one for Trader Vic's Portland

Neva got there Jon but I’m sure I would have liked it. Never met a Trader Vic’s that I didn’t like!

No drinks for me today. My grandkids mentioned ( yesterday) that McDonald’s Shamrock Shakes were not available in the L A area this year.
I found several recipes online so I surprised them with one of these.

Thanks for the heads up, hang10tiki. I read this with great interest. I bought the ingredients to make the infused rum, but now I may scale back to just a half batch. I'll look at the recipe again and see what it says about refrigeration, etc. I'm curious even more now, gotta try this. (Wish I had more time. I'm getting killed working a kitchen/bath remodel, have very little free time right now. Good thing I can read and post from work! hahaha...)

Nui, what rum did you use, and did your grandkids like it? :P

Don’t know if they liked it but they went to bed without a fuss.

Re Unfortunate pineapple rum experiments - maybe the pineapples need to be really ripe?

We have nipped over to Denmark for a long weekend, yesterday there was a lot of nice dark beers:

Followed by a trip to Copenhagen's Brass Monkey tiki bar:

We walked all day & found a bar with a champagne happy hour for my partner & some nice sipping rums for me:

Cheers all!

To me, dat recipe using Pussers is da perfect Painkiller. I’ve tried the 2, 3.and 4 ounce versions and the balance is off.
Cheers

Had two Pegu Club Cocktails followed by a bottle of Heinekin. Hang10’s Painkiller post got my attention. Better quit while I can still see.
Cheers

What makes it a Redux?

So I've been drinking a lot of everything lately, but not whipping up too many tiki cocktails at home much. No picture but last night I tried Dale DeGroff's Añejo Highball:
1.5 oz Bacardi 8
2 oz Ginger Beer
.5 Orange Curaçao
.5 Fresh Lime Juice
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Build in glass over ice and stir well.

H

Kkocka, there is chilled Kona coffee in the Redux.

The Below Decks White Dragon!

Now. RIGHT NOW. A delightful "Paper Plane" made with Eagle Rare bourbon.

1 oz bourbon, preferably around 45% ABV.
1 oz amaro, whatever amaro you have handy.
1 oz aperol
1 oz lemon juice

If your coupe glasses are on the smallish side, you can drop down to .75 oz for each ingredient.

Shake with ice, but don't over-dilute unless personal preference finds the drink tastes more Aperol-ish than you like. Then strain into a coupe glass and enjoy.

Must make another one... A very nice sipping cocktail! Oh so good... DAMN GOOD!

Am I the only person drinking tonight? I find that very hard to believe. The night is still young in the Pacific and Hawaiian time zones...

Ace- twist our arms

Elderflower Tini and some IPA

Mine too Ace. The Hawk was out tonight-I thought that my bar was gonna blow away before I could finish dese Rum Barrels.
Cheers

Ugh I wish. Today's going to be a loooong day because last night at Trader Sam's was:
-Tahitian Sour (can't remember -what- Sour it was exactly but it was original)
-Another mystery original creation (Appleton, lemon, pineapple, angostura, Luxardo maybe, some other stuff)
-Tortuga
-Navy Grog

Went to bed around 330 and got up at 730. Ugh again.

Very good, Keith, the loss of sleep was a good trade! Can't go wrong with time at Trader Sam's. The Paper Plane was my answer to a long and crazy day as well. It was simple and quick to make, very tasty, and definitely satisfied my state of mind.

TR

Coconut cranberry mai tai

2 oz cruzan
2 oz lime syrup
1/2 oz orgeat
3 oz langers cranberry coconut juice
Crushed ice in a 10 oz yeti steel highball with an aloha hibiscus sticker

Two of these and a longboard lager back-then watching Car 54 on free TV to see what Aloha shirt Gunther is wearing tonight....Ooh! Ooh!

Widow's Kiss - at Herbs and Rye (LV)

Finky- enjoy
Great bar

Long time no drink. Whipped up a coupla Mara-Amu's for me and the misses.

[ Edited by: mikehooker 2016-03-23 21:22 ]

Hang10- as you can see by my sideways photo, I'm very much enjoying myself here.
I dig Frankie's, but I gotta say, the cocktails and mixology here are great and no douchey tourist vibe. Not "tiki", but I will definitely make a point to return to Herbs and Rye for drinks when in town. (And my steak was fantastic too!)

Keith, those sound great! Who was mixing for you? I wanna try those libations whenever I get back there again.
