Keith, those sound great! Who was mixing for you? I wanna try those libations whenever I get back there again.

Cristian served up the Trinidad Sour, and the rest were by new(ish)comer Melissa. Short blonde hair. Really impressed me because she busted her ass on an extremely busy night and kept up w/the custom requests. She knows her stuff which butters me up, hah. I'm all about bartenders that love their craft.

My wife's near perfect copy of a Don the Beachcomber Mai Tai. The dark rum soaked in a coconut for two days.

Drinking, finally, my damn Koko Brown from Kona Brewing Co! ...and it tastes so good. :)

NICE! Waited for that for a bit huh Keith? Still waiting for the Wheat?

I have'em all: Koko Brown, Wailua Wheat, and Pipeline Porter. The latter two are easy to grab now, but the Koko Brown's been elusive. Over the last few weeks they've all started popping up more around LA and I'm happy to say that Kona's Beer Finder on their site is accurate!

Aurora Bora Borealis.

Not a fan of this one at all. Doctored it up a bit with a little more coconut cream and orgeat, some passion fruit and a dash of bitters. Better. Won't make again.

Angostura No. 1.

Lazy, but delicious.

The Below Decks Mai Tai!

Made up some navy grog concentrate and used it to make a slight tweak on the Admiral's Grog to go with some duck steamed buns, ribs, and sauteed bok choy.

Last night was the 'soft opening' of my home tiki bar (the sawing, drilling & cutting is done) - I must get round to making a home bar thread. To drink I had:

Ti Punch
Innis & Gunn cask aged beer
Champagne Classic
Appleton 21

I just got a photo of the first (while waiting for Thai food):

Cheers! :)

Leilani Volcano for the boss and I. My 2nd was a beer
Cheers

Often, when ordering a Rum Gum & Lime at Tiki Ti, Mike Sr will ask if you're not feeling well. Apparently it's the old family cure. Feel like something might be coming on, so we're enjoying our homemade version again tonight. Hey, lime for vitamin C, alcohol to kill germs.

Mixed it up a bit on the second round by adding some Zaya. I feel better already.

P.S. That Grog looks delicious, Pat!

I am now prepared for Hang10tiki or any you US beers fans to come over:

*its been avalible for a while but this the first time I've seen it on the shelf.

Also I just tried the 2070 Redux 'Swanky' Swizzle - I've got to say, what a drink, such balance :)

Now a Boulevardier :)

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Catching up from the weekend, we had some guests over to The Atomic Grog on Friday night to enjoy some original creations ...

Then, last night we hit The Mai-Kai for my annual marathon birthday celebration. Our group knocked back a big chunk of the menu before I capped my evening with a Zombie ...

I adore the decor at those places but the drinks never do it for me. I always end up drinking beer. Do you have a preferred drink there?
