Glad you like it. I’d developed it as an “up” drink, so I’ll have to see what it’s like on the rocks. Those look like double old-fashioneds; did you double the recipe to fill the glass or just use a lot of ice?

I had people over to watch “Mad Monster Party?” tonight. I made them Zombies, and whipped this up for myself:

1-1/2 oz pineapple juice
1-1/2 oz Don’s mix
1 oz lime juice
1/2 oz grenadine
3 oz club club soda

Hamo. I tripled the recipe and served em in tiki themed dbl, old fashions from Tommy Bahama. Was able to serve two drinks each for me and my TikiQueen. Killed a bottle of Cab with dinner so I hope that you can make sense of dis ramble.
Cheers

Great minds think alike - we watched that too!! Such a great movie. We had daiquiris with cherry syrup and called them Bloody Limeys.

Ha! Killer name for a drink.

Club 33 Sazerac

A flight of Velier "single distillation" rums, at a tasting evening with Luca Gargano. Fabulous stuff.

This included Mount Gay "Last Ward", Clairin Sajous, Velier Unaged Jamaican, and a couple of others.

Luca is a real character and has one of the most enviable jobs I've ever heard of.

Deep Sea Diver at The Mai-Kai Restaurant and Polynesian Show ... along with some new reading material.

Hurc, I found six glasses at a thrift and bought em on impulse. Until this evening I had no nidea what to serve in them.

The Tiki Reviver cocktail by Beachbum Berry and mug by Tiki Farm for the 10th anniversary of The Book of Tiki in 2011. Pairs well with The Art of Tiki by Sven Kirsten and Otto von Stroheim (2011). Get the book now! http://amzn.to/2yIdw4d

Rich and potent with loads of funky flavor (I used Corbua and R.L. Seale's 10 rums). The nutmeg adds a nice note of classic aromatics.

I made up a slightly tweaked "West Indian Planter's Punch" aka "Plantocrat's Punch" from POTC for tapas night. Used a blend of Coruba, Appleton, and OFTD instead of a single rum, subbed bonded brandy for cognac, and used sparkling water instead of still.

The coconut shrimp were back by popular demand, this time with a sesame-sriracha aioli based on the sauce that the Houston's chain serves with its sushi.

Presentation was better than the actual drinks, although they were potent. Psychotic Suzi was decent but Mai Tai was not that good. It was a Sunday night but I'm told on Friday and Saturday nights they open the upstairs bar which has a better drink menu and a more traditional Tiki decor.
