Some delicious cocktails (shared with good buddy Alan) at the Freehand Hotel Exchange Restaurant & the rooftop Broken Shaker Bar (Los Angeles)!

David- just on ice so far
Haven’t mixed it in any cocktails yet

Cheers

Rum Babalu and a Longboard Beer at Tommy Bahama’s. My TikiQueen had a couple of Babalu’s.
Btw, the adjacent retail store has some very cool tiki themed barware and a supercool Christmas ornament.
I’ll post a pic tomorrow in the proper thread.
Cheers

Something original with rum, pineapple, Chartreuse, and ginger. Pretty good; I wonder how it would translate on the rocks, or maybe over crushed ice.

Missionary's Downfall

Red nosed Zebra as served at Trader Sam’s (California) I had to sub lime leaves for the mint-mine was in poor condtion.
Cheers

Red-Nosed Zebra
Makes 1 cocktail
1.5 ounces Bacardi 8 rum
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce agave nectar
1 ounce strawberry purée
Crushed ice, 3 cranberries, 2 mint sprigs, for garnish
Add all ingredients in a Boston Shaker (except garnish), fill half full with ice, and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
Strain into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a mound of crushed ice, cranberries, and mint sprigs to look like 2 green antlers, cranberries for eyes

Boomtown Belgian Strong Ale at Maple Block Meat Co.

Not a bad beer, but the smoked pork "appetizer" (more like an entree that you could split with a few other people) here is so strongly tiki-esque that I was bitterly lamenting the fact that I didn't have a navy grog to wash it down with. Comes with lettuce leaves to make wraps with peanut sauce and pickled carrots and shallots. Sort of like kalua pork crossed with the lettuce cups that have graced TV's menu for the past decades. I may have to try replicating this at home for my pupu platters.

You had me at "smoked pork"...

Years ago a barkeep in Baja made my wife and I a Mexican Coffee using Presidente Brandy instead of the usual tequila. While not a true Mexican Coffee it’s the way that I make em here at the SharkBite Bar. I bought a bottle of Kahlua Midnight (rum and coffee Liqueur blend) recently and mixed 2 ounces of the Midnight and about 5 ounces of strong coffee in a large cup. Topped it with muddled cream and nutmeg. Also left out the sugar. Nice drink.
Cheers

I've been drinking a lot of coffee drinks lately to stave off the cold - that sounds delicious. I dig Kahlua and that's a pretty high octane liqueur, so I think I am going to have to scare up a bottle.

Got a couple new bottles the other night and made a 151 Swizzle v4 last night.
Put the Appleton to use in the swizzle. I’ll have to try out the Hamilton tonight.

Made the West Indian Planter's Punch from POTC for the family yesterday. The higher quality guava jelly I got for this really improves the drink.
