G'night!

TK

I like it. something about the ropes in the eyes, fascinating.

[ Edited by: Tiki King 2011-12-20 07:28 ]

Thanks TikiKing!
the ropes are used to secure the skulls in place
so they don't fall out while he's on the hunt!
Been doing these cannibals for quite some years and about 3 years ago
realized they were just shoved into their sockets without any type of securing!
Made sense to add them....
:)

Aloha Ohana!
Have about 7-8 new pieces to share
BUT seeing as i have to go to work tomorrow
I'll share just one...

Kinny, I love coming here an looking through all the great paintings. You work is a lot of fun. You are good.

It's beautiful work. I keep wanting to scroll down on that last piece really slow while humming the "Jaws" theme to myself.

These would look great on a billboard...

hiltiki-Thanks for the visit!
Glad i could provide some smiles and happiness!

Professor G-Mahalo!Just tried scrolling down with the JAWS theme in my head......PERFECT!
now i can label it a multimedia piece!

http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=19904&forum=18&start=2745&2748

Great new pieces Ken!

A~ROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Just for fun, I change the angle of my laptop screen while looking at "River and Moonlight" or "The Path" or any number of your other works, and something new pops out every time I shift my point of view. It's what I call full-contact art appreciation (or possibly full-on nerdiness). I can only imagine how much more true that is seeing the works in person. Really just stunning, LLT.

Hooooooow-dee!
Thanks for all the visits folks!

Doug-Thank you!
Your perfection and dedication are things that inspire and drive me to push and push.
when i see you and Toe working when we're Artjammin
there is such an energy there...
it's only natural it would ooze into the artwork...

Zerotiki-that cracks me up even more than usual because
the Solomon island piece was being born via sketches during an Artjam
where we were watching "Werewolves on Wheels"
(great scene of a nekkid chick dancing on an altar with a snake in one hand and skull in the other...Sez and Death personified..... i want Toe to paint her....

Professor G! Great idea with the laptop screen... Sometimes i'll shift the Hues and colors in Photoshop
BUT! it's always AFTER it's painted
and then i always find a better colorway!
DOH!
Your two states of art-viewing should be combined
and referred to as a
FULL-ON CONTACT NERD ART APPRECIATION event!
At least, that's a part of the delight
i would hope to elicit in the viewer
and of course... the emotional connection
or the story inside the piece...
Hope you get a chance to see some originals in person...
there really is a ZING to it.....like you can feel the vibe and energy of each one...
it's like MAGIC!
This is especially true of the sculptors....
ya gotta FEEL and touch and get up all into a Crazy Al or Benzart or Babalu or Squid or Bowana or Bai's pieces to FEEL them...their texture and carving and how the light plays off of them.....
and the Horne and the Toe....there's just no capturing the eye-poppiness of either of them two goober's art!
Anyways.....it's late and i babble...
Thank you for the visit
and givin me a peek into one of the ways
a viewer views my work....
(I've also been told 3-d red&Blue Ol' School glasses do WONDERS on these paintings as well!)

Here's the newest.....headed for the Contemporary Idol Show at mModern next month
"Pool and Moonlight"
acrylic and cel-vinyl on gessoed masonite

if you'd like to see some close-up details..... check over here in a while!
http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=19904&forum=18&start=2745&2754

it will accompany "the Path"

if the gallery and Sven will have them both.
:)

Really diggin the Mid Century color pallet you are using, Kinsters.

Thanks Lance!
Here's some more with that same Modernist flavor and experimental colorways...
Here's all the finished paintings
if you'd like to see step-by-steps and details.... go here!

Ken,

Quite a few pieces catching my eyes these days, and its about time I add another Ruzic to my collection.
I'm sure we can make a deal that sends us both home with happy new art. :)

One-Sided Conversation makes me smile :) Love the rich greens. Seeya tomorrow in PS?

Not so much a bad speller as a real bad typist, You can blame some of my spelling
on TCs own spell checker, As I use it not only for spelling but also typing mistakes.

But then again, so was Ray Bradbury....

HI KIDDLES!
Just a quick posting to catch you up with all the finished work
a LOT that i will be having displayed this Sunday at the International Tiki MarketPlace at Don the Beachcombers!
