Attention landscapers

I am trying to find some more wood and looking for excess from landscape.
Queen palm, sabal, and anything carveable

Mahalo

I think that photo is special. I like how it tooked so tall. I hope you get some wood to recycle so we can see more of your terrific work, Wendy

A couple simple works
Yes Wendy, it's funny what images can do.

I still have some log. I just need to replenish.

very cool. Do you sell many of these when you're out there?

There are good and bad days.

Most people want to spend $100 or less and some of my stuff just can't go for that amount. I bargain frequently.

the first day. queen palm

P

I like that last one.

Looks like you're havin' fun!

Gotta say yes!

Tiki is a labor of Love, ask any of my Brahs!

Looks like I feel sometimes. Very traditional style

Cool!

Thanks Jesse Pena for these images. Paying me a visit at the recent car show while I was carving in back. Nice images Brah!

Sweet 1
I like the aged look

See you at Tiki Highway!

I wonder - are you carving in shade or just sitting out in the middle of the parking lot? One of those pop up canopies might be a good investment!

Latest He's all hands! I'm liking it actually the wood has enough of it's own look that it just needs a personality.

It's a nice one, has a vintage feel to it.

Nice little collection you have out there! Looks good!

Under the shade of the Canary Island Palm. The Canopy may come some time, I just don't know if I want the hassle of setting it up, breaking it down and storing it

He's definitely got a retro feel about him. I think he'd look good in a 60's style beach "Bachelor pad" next to a bikini clad girl on a pillow!

I got the trimmings from a neighbors tree. I'm still trying to catch someone home so I can find out. It's nice looking stuff whatever it is, heavy and hard as well. In one way it doesn't much matter as it's a good looking work. I'll see what I can find out.

P

yeah it has a nice appearance, kinda 2 tone....

and yeah, not that it makes a difference, just curious...

Here is a chiseled Mahogany stand for some of my skinnier works. Tell me what you think folks.

I missed this one. Very cool! It's got a real old school vibe to it.

Yes he does.

The Cypress wood can be really difficult to work with but will last ad infinitum!
I sold him already.

P

I dig that last guy Mike...

I dig the compliments!

The Old School Vibe. Chisels, rasps, saws, Martin Denny, Exotica,Bamboo shacks, any wood you can find... just hook into the spirit and the Tiki just becomes...
The hands give birth. The adopted parents give it a name and thier love will give it a soul.

Saying Aloha to Art Snyder is hard. Good to see all of you there and see how much the man was really loved by so many.

My carvings are very minute compared to his creation of a Paradise where we could go to escape. I have been so lucky to be a part of it. Remembered forever, Aloha until we meet again, Art.

Sending a message in a bottle.

Working 10- 14 hours day out here in the desert and looking for a place to carve in what little spare time I have. I have a carving in it's early stages sitting on the lift cart.

Of course I miss my afternoons at Don's. The people who come by and say hi. The happy purchasers who give my creations a name and a soul. Hopefully, it won't be long. Some things make life a little more worth living. For me, artwork is a purpose. A business of happiness, inspiration and contribution.

My envy to those active, my gratitude in knowing it isn't over yet.

Good start on this one!

Jon

Thanks, Jon!

still alive gang!

Seems like old times that aren't over yet!
