NOBODY can say "carve deeper" on this one! Nice!!

It depends on your definition of "deeper". Are you talking about the "depth" of the cuts? or are you looking "deeper" into the why he made his cuts. Its up to the individual to decide. I think he has has carved deep to create a deep carving!

Whats next?

P

I am seriously diggin' the inlays bro...

I may have to try this on a piece in the near future because that has my head spinning...

Really love your latest carving, don't know how I missed it till now.

Nice work with the warrior panel McTiki, good "shadow test," and I just love the
previous fella with the big eyes! You don't need to be that humble, but I agree about
the generally high quality of what is posted here. I have spent a lot of time
searching the web for carving forums--not just tiki-related---and I haven't
found any other one that matches TC. We have a much more active carving community
than I've found anywhere else, the high number of views and comments attests to
that. Keep 'em coming.

Thank you Conga!

Continuing on with the 5 footer...

Getting the hang of this... I think... The Paua is just so awesome.

Should have full body shots once the stain is complete. (Ran out, mid way thru)

I second it. Those inlays really take it up a notch.

M

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

Ok, stains are applied. I tried out the new 'Classic Grey' stain from Minwax for the base. It has a weathered look. The blossoms will be detailed after the Spar coat is applied. I will shoot for a matte finish when this is all said and done.

Thank you for stopping by.

Looks Great!! That gray stain really adds to the piece - Nice work!

P
