Thank you
Thank you
Thank you

What a great idea for a Christmas card. I wish you had 25 tikis by me but I think you'll run out before Christmas.

================================

Too tired tonight. I'll post in the morning. Cheers, Wendy

That sounds like a challenge
:)

hang10tiki these are so good I could print them up for Christmas cards. I'm soooooo enjoying this, thank you.

Wish List #6 progress report. This is the last Wish on the list (not counting the Hot Tub Hula Girls) and it is for Kenneth Graham McNeil.

Once again this mug is based on a zerostreet aka Robert Jimenez's painting and then the backside will be based on the Enchanted Tiki Room poster. So this goes with the other mug and together they are to commemorate his engagement.

Front side of the mug.

I started by building the head on one of my fogcutter mug casts.

Then the body.

I made the shirt with buttons. The design will come with the glazing.

Next the face.

I keep referring to zerostreet's artwork.

Next I worked on the eyes.

No copy is perfect but I hope it gives the same "feel".

Texture is now added to the hairy parts.

Close up.

Far view.

Tomorrow I'll show the backside and then it's on to the HTHG's.

Happy Holidays, Wendy

ok, i'll play.

Oooooooooooooooh this is so much fun. I love these. I'm saving each one and I plan to put them all as a group on fb just before Christmas. Thank you men, you are making my holidays so special.

This is the only Santa I've made. This was for Loki Tiki and was on a Wish List. I'm adding him to the mix.

Wish List #6 progress report.

Here's the backside of the Kenneth Graham McNeil mug. This ends all the original sculptures for this Wish List. Now I'll be working on the Hot Tub Hula Girls.

This backside is based on the same poster as the last monkey mug I made for him.

This mug has had so much clay added it weighs about 4 pounds. It will weigh less when it dries.

All done and posing.

I can't believe that I've finished sculpting the Wish List except for the HTHG's. If you think you were on the list and I missed you please contact me ASAP. I have a list of people who asked me questions and had ideas but never got back to me again. If you are on that list I would still make your item if you contact me NOW!

This has been fun. Now I go into mass production of the huge HTHG's while slowly drying these last works.
Covered overnight. Uncovered for 2 hours, covered for 2 hours, back and forth all day every day.

Happy Holidays, Wendy

Wow, those came out great Wendy
Your sure got talent lil lady :)

Fantastic new work Wendy!!

hang10tiki I owe all I know about sculpting and painting from my mother. She didn't believe in age related activities. If I could hold it I could have it and she would show me how. I was a very lucky kid. Thank you. Who taught you how to carve all those great tikis?

RVICTOR you know the joy of playing with clay and I enjoy looking at your projects. Thank you.

Atomic Tiki Punk I wish I could. 2 hours in the bag and 2 hours out. All day long. So far no cracks.

==============================

Wish List #6 has been finished and now I'm gearing up for all the Hot Tub Hula Girls.

Meanwhile I had a few scraps left that I wanted to use up so here's what I did.

I had one Frankoma small tiki left and the bottom of a failed bowl. I combined them into a wall plaque.

All done and drying.

I had a failed Tiki Bob mug so I cut off the front and made a very large necklace or small wall hanging.

I had some flat pieces of clay so I made some more glaze test strips.

I made a necklace for Dan. It looks like a cracker.

Backing up I can now show a table from when I was drying projects. These all had to be covered and uncovered for a couple of weeks.

Some eventually made it into the garage for sanding.

Goofy stuff that just emptied out my shelves. Happy Holidays, Wendy

Funny
We posted at the same time

One day I saw a piece of Palm (stump) on the side of the road
Took it home
Always wanted to carve a Tiki
I did
Let's just say that tiki and the next 25 or so ended up to be firewood
:)

Nice necklace

J

Wow! My bowl looks bigger than I thought! I hope it will fit on my shelf. What is the measurement from back to front? Thanks.

hang10tiki this is Dan's favorite so far.

hang10tiki I wish I could have seen those before they turned to ash. Your backyard tikis that you have done since that time are wonderful.

JenTiki does size matter? Just kidding. From the back to the front of the birds bellies is 10 inches.
I hope it works out.

Cheers, Wendy

Whew! Just barely! Thanks! :)

You two are funny

This was my 1st Wendy piece....
:)

Wendy, love that you're using all the pieces of the art you make, even the ones that are (so-called) damaged to make new art. I can't wait to see the Tiki Bob wall hanging! (might look nice next to your Moai necklace that I use as a wall hanging)!

Jon, great one!

CY thank you so much. I missed your message and just saw it today. I've been watching you on fb, I hope you see my "likes".

JenTiki great. It's so heavy that if it sticks out it will not fall off the shelf.

=================

The Wish List continues with the progress on the Hot Tub Hula Girls.

I ran out of table tops so we went and bought another table. Dan was sad to see another room get so messy but he is very understanding.

We have been casting since last October. I brought in all the hula girls from the garage.

I set up my work mess and got busy.

Dan and I later carried in all the coconuts from the garage.

I figured out that making one a day wouldn't work out that I needed to stream line my work. So off with the mold lines.

Carved the bottoms with all the information.

Smoothed the carving with a wet brush.

A few days later I moved the hula girls to the kitchen and put the coconuts on the new table. I have 22 coconut bottoms done. I have orders for 24 so we started casting again.

The last of the custom pieces are still drying so I can't yet sand and fire those.
My tiki factory is going to be covering all the house when all our family comes for Christmas. We did not by anything for the kids that can be thrown or flies.

Happy Holidays, Wendy

That's a lot of hot tubs

Saw these 4 killer tikis on eBay

The Duke of Swiz
The Mad Dogger
Sir Dan-0
The Earl of Luna

I wonder who won them
:)

Worst sound ever, slurp of an empty tiki mug through my straw!!!

Good morning

Here's your daily Christmas card

hang10tiki you are making our holidays very merry.

============================

Progress Report Wish List #6 continues on with the Hot Tub Hula Girls.

I can't decide what should be on the table and what should be on the kitchen counter. So I changed them back again. I clean up a few hula girls and then add them to the coconut mug.

I get a couple done a day and

then they get covered up for the night.

Now it's my bed time too. Cheers, Wendy

Is it just me
Or
Is there a body bag on your table?

hang10tiki I am so creeped out! It does look that way and with someone filling it.
Thank you so much for the Christmas photo.

The casts need a lot of clean up. This one even needed a new nose!

After the girl is cleaned up she goes into the tub and I add all her hair over the back of the coconut.

Then after all her best points are just right I carve the coconuts surface and her hair.

One done and posing.

Five down and many more to go.

We cast more parts so I was back to doing the bottoms of the newest coconuts.

Holidays are here I hope yours are all super fun. Wendy

:)

hang10tiki thank you so much for keeping the Holidays current on my thread. I forgot you have the "Amazing" Tiki Bob.

I've started my SWAP project. I needed to use a cast that was sitting there waiting to be altered. The theme is the Seasons of Tiki.

Mine will be based on the Season of Love.

===========================

Wish List #6 the Hot Tub Hula Girls are adding up. I spent one day and cleaned up all the Hula Girls.

The part that takes the most time is the adding of hair. Every time it is different because it depends on how the girl sits in the coconut.

I have a goal because we are having family at our home for the holidays. I've worked 10 hours a day on these so that I'll make the goal.

Cheers, Wendy

And it is amazing

hang10tiki I look forward to these photos. You are a joy.

================================

Wish List #6 more Hot Tub Hula Girls are made.

I cover them up for 2 hours and then uncover them for 2 hours. On and off all day long.

So much fun to see them add up. I keep counting them over and over again. Cheers, Wendy

Wait
Is that another body bag?
:)

Next one

We sure had fun last night at the Golden Tiki
Wish you two were here

hang10tiki I wish we were there too. We will plan to come visit next year, ha ha ha, it's almost here.
I can't take loud noise though because my ears are so deaf. I could wear the ear protectors Dan wears when he mows the lawn.

Thank you for another great photo. I'm going to put all that you have done so far on fb today. Then I'm taking a cyber and clay breaks from tiki.

=========================

WISH LIST #6 I met my personal deadline. I have sculpted every project.

I even did a few extra Hot Tub Hula Girl mugs in case any explode in the kiln when fired.

I am going to now take a Holiday break. We have family coming to our home for Christmas and there is so much to do. I still have no table space anywhere.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Holiday season. When I return to work it will be time to sand, fire and to start glazing all these projects. I haven't counted them but there are a lot. It will be a fun time.

Meanwhile I'll miss you all. Feel free to post tiki fun on my thread like hang10tiki to keep the fun going. I'll enjoy seeing them when I return to the cyber world.

I'm off and running to fun, Wendy and Dan

Have fun
And have a great holiday with the family

Jon

Nice seeing you & Dan on Saturday!
