Thank you Laz.
You know your Japanese carvings, Impressive.
The Namahage comes from the most north island.
He has a job.
He keeps small children & cry babies in check &
the public in general in line, morally.

Moving on.
Here's a pendant going to Oasis.

This is a Moai style muddler.
It was a ballester [I guess] & I carved into
the angle to make the nose pop out.

looking sweeeet!

So the Moai muddler is done.
That should make one fly tying dude happy.

Next up a new frond.

H

Your fronds are killers, always.

That muddler looks killer! Can't wait to get to muddling with it. :)

I love my pendant Will! Wore it with pride at Oasis!! Mahalo!!

Very very nice piece!!!

I was concerned with the green finish, but you pulled it off nicely. The cloth background helps too. - Happy Birthday!!

Awesome muddler Will, and you know I love the green treatment on the frond. Happy Birthday pal, keep up the great work!!

Happy Birthday Will! I love the frond!

H

Happy Birthday Will, hope you are having a fantastic day. :drink: :drink:

Happy Birthday to a great carver, artist and friend....what would I do without you! Glad everyone is chiming in here!

Best wishes Will....hopefully many years of inspiring us to carve better.

Beautiful work Will!

Some one gave me the idea to carve table lamps.
The small Mai-Kai kind.
I thought, how many could I possably carve like that?
So I carved this one.

Then I made a fiberglass mold of it.

Then I made these.

We think the shade is
a shade too small.

That's so neat looking, but it make GROG worried that it'll crack at the heels the way it's laying.

WC

GROG have that fear be for.
Fear not, it's an allusion.

I do have a SET OF flex chisels , i have had them for over a year , they are dull now and i usualy just use all power tools replacing the chisel with sabur tooth bits, but i see that the quality comes from chisels much cleaner , I like chisels when i carved ice but i have gotten away from them when i started carving palm and wood. I am going to look at that and use a little more chisel work , thanks for posting it is a inspiring will carve

That's gonna be gorgeous! I love that he's standing on a barrel. Very cool!

T

ultra cool will. i have to go back to the drawing board every time i see one of your carves!

I would love to know more about your fiberglass mold making process. Care to share?

Happy Hour at the Mai Kai.

T

u fellas are all right and all, but what happened to the calendar girls?!

Way past due for an update!!!

I'm done with this but only have face pics.

Thanks to Christie the door to the Mai-Kai warehouse has opened to me again and
I'm filling the molds right where I left off.
Here's how they go.

A Marquesan cement casting in the office
of the Mai-Kai next to Bobs picture.

A current project.
It's palm.

An epic picture of an old project Will, that would be framed in my living room if it was my casting.
