I scrolled too fast! THat's a such a cute video with the Royal Hawaiian Tiki. Looking so good.

Good thing you are not carving that in California.

I'd hate to see you get cancer.

Here we can carve whatever we want !!!

Yes, California has a lot of silly laws.

What is in the wood to cause cancer? Did you see the workers at a paper mill caught a fungus and ended up in the hospital? I guess wood has it's downsides.

The wood dust can be irritating, the big concern obviously is for your lungs. But if you work with wood you probably wear a mask and have good ventilation, etc. It’s just funny that California makes them put a warning on the block of wood. The same way it puts a warning label on black licorice!!!

I looked up what wood can be irritating or harmful, it only listed about 235 different types of wood. Lol.

OHHHHHHH you thought up a darling Polynesian high-rise! Let's all move in when it's done.

I've been warning and keeping Dan away from licorice for years. I'm glad they put that warning on there. It was Dan's favorite candy until I stumbled across an article about ruining your kidneys.

Thank you for your comment on Gallery. We have finished our house painting and I'll be posting a new black velvets steps soon.

Lol

I know it’s hard to tell what it is now, eventually and hopefully it will be a cannibal trio. But for now just kind a looks messy.

LOL for sure. I was sure it was a stack of huts. I can see the cannibals now that you have told me. That too will be a fun carving.

What a fun life!

Lil fun today

Hi Wendy-

It was fun

Japanese milk bread with yuzu koshu butter.
Wood fired harissa octopus, Lebanese potato salad, and micro celery.
And Parisian gnocchi, sweet breads, edamame, potato espuma.

All was amazing

PS- next carving not an owl

Side project

Need a better way to hold small front half or relief carvings

So

Lil research

Found a carver who had a great set up

So I made one by using all the wrong tools. The ones I had. Lol

IMG_3974

Then put a couple screws through a second piece of wood to hold carving wood, same width as the stand

IMG_3975

Clamp it to the stand, secure stand to work bench and BAMM….

IMG_3976IMG_3977

Best of all, it works great

Later I secured the shop vac head under carving so the wood chips fell into it

Frankie's is fun to see.

Interesting project going on there. You must have put the non-owl project aside for now.

We have finished more home projects but on fb I'm catching up with food posts. Then when I post home projects I'll post those here. I love projects.

Hi W

I’ll hop over to your posts

Yes, I put the non-owl on the back burner to do some practice

IMG_4019IMG_4020

So the lil practice piece on the new stand is coming along

OK so I wanted to work on the piece I started last week, didn’t want to mount it to the thing I made last week I wanted to secure it to my Jaw horse and work outside, it just so happens if I take what I made and give it a turn it works perfect in the jaw horse:
