Pirate L-Shaped Bar (inspired by Mai Kai) project starting now!

T

Incredible and inspiring work...you must have been an Imagineer in a past life!

That diorama is off the charts magnificent! You really outdid yourself. Very much looking forward to the pirate bar build.

That would be awesome lifesize
:)

Pirate Bar underway!

M

That's amazing! I'm just blown away with the level of talent on this forum. Definitely inspiring stuff. Good job!!

Pirate Bar gonna be good! Don't be stingy with the updates!

That is insane! When I first read through all the old posts, I was baffled that this was your first miniature build...until I saw the architectural school part. It all makes so much more sense now. I love it.

Fantastic! Keep us posted!

Awesome and amazing creative design and craftsmanship with this bar. Thanks for sharing!

Pirate Tiki Bar almost done

Mai Kai Ispired Bartop was a chore!!!!

Hula Sue was the inspiration for the masthead! (Thanks Hula Sue!)

Looks awesome. I only have one criticism ...the photos are sideways. :)

I really like what you have done!

That bar top may have been a chore, but it was completely worth it! Looks fantastic!

Do you still have the banjo playing skeleton?

I do indeed...I actually have two of them now (one is 1/2 lifesize)

The bar top, the bar itself, the lighting, the diorama, the ceiling, the list goes on and on! Outstanding job!! The details are great and the depth you've achieved is perfect. Great job Hearn! The finished pics are well done too.
Thanks for posting and keep it up!

Mahalo, TabooDan

Still in awe of the diorama and now the whole set-up. Fantastic work!

WOW! You did such an amazing job on the entire room. Love all the little details and that bar is top notch! Well done.

S

Bar top is excellent. Amazing attention to detail. Congrats

Starting to play around with my new router....its tricky work...

You've really done a number of special things here. So great and love the placement of the figurehead and swing chair. Awesomeness!

W

I imagine guest's just come and sit, and stare....

BB

Those panels look great!

There's definitely a learning curve to the router, but it looks like you're picking it up quickly. That router work is excellent!

TS uses a combination of 3d sculpts, backlights, and projection mapping for all the motion. I'm curious how they pull it off when such a small space, excited to see how your thing goes.

3D Sculps. CHECK
Backlighting. CHECK
Projection Mapping.....Negative Ghost Rider. I'm going to skip that component. Too tricky for the space where its going. Its looking ok so far. Will post update soon.

Trader Sam Window about 60% done. It’s been fun working on it. My daughter has been helping and as a result all sorts of people are showing up on The Island. I’m starting to get a Hammer Horror Film vibe from lighting effects...an unexpected but not unwelcome effect.

I apologize for crappy photo orientation...will fix in next post.

Mahalo!
