2003 Retro-Rama Show December 13th

Pages: 1 2 replies

Aloha,

Just wanted everyone to know about the 2003 Retro-Rama Antiques & Collectibles Show coming up Saturday, Dec. 13th. Show hours are from 10am to 8pm, and we have 50 of the best dealers in retro-kitsch-tropical-rattan-funky old Florida - anything old but cool! Mid-20th century modern, lighting, postcards (for sure you can find some old Tiki bar haunts!), vintage textiles, bakelite jewelry, retro kitchen and furniture....plus, there's always tiki to be found among all the treasures! The show starts at 10am and goes until 8pm, with live entertainment beginning at 5pm by Island Breeze (a sextet on steel drums), along with a cash bar from 5-8.

We're excited to have Bre-elle (aka Tiki-Bree) joining us as an exhibitor this year, along with Larry Roberts - who wrote THE book on Florida collectibles and memorabilia - plus other top names in vintage Florida souvenirs! Retro-Rama is not an antique show for your mother! It features an eclectic array of cool stuff, and the music is great all day! People tell us this is the ONLY show they shut down their businesses and give their employees the day off for!

Located near St. Petersburg/Tampa Florida at the historic Gulfport Casino voted Best Wooden Dance Floor on the East Coast by USA Today) in Gulfport, Florida at 5500 Shore Blvd. on the shores of Boca Ciega Bay. It's a great art deco style building, with a superb dance floor enjoyed by all the local swing clubs. Admission to the show is $5.00.

Questions? Need directions? Call our shop at 727-322-5282 (Hula Hula...tropical art, antiques & accoutrements). Mahalo, and we look forward to seeing you on December 13th at Retro-Rama!

Sounds great!
I'll be there at 9:58 sharp.

I'll bring some libations in the wagon in case anyone wants their lunch in liquid form.

Hukilau 2003 attendees....you'll remember Ms. Hula Hula as one of our exhibitors in the penthouse Coral Room.
She was the one with the fabulous Hawaiiana and the great big smile!!!! Annette was also the high bidder for Bamboo Ben's sensational tiki bar commemorating Hukilau (hey Ben, am I still on your list???).
I got to know Ms. Hula Hula at one of her antique shows last year at the Gulfport Casino. I was so impressed that I had to participate. The casino is incredibly cool with its deco facade and pier foundation, and Gulfport is "the town that time forgot."
Please say "Hi!" if any of you sweet TC-ers come by......
