Off-topic: Sneak Preview of Hanford's New website and game

Pages: 1 8 replies

Okay, so this is way off-topic but I run this joint so I think it’s fair.

I’m launching a video game and a new web site to go with it. It’s not Tiki, but if you squint your eyes a little bit it may look “retro”.

I’m selling the full version of the game on the site, but there’s a free version available to download with just a few of the full version’s levels. If you want, check out the free version. If you like the free version, buy the full version.

Before I open the site to everyone I’m slowly sneaking it to friends and family and now to everyone at Tiki Central! If you like the game and site feel free to tell your friends. And please, If you have complements or criticisms, if you find errors in the site or in the game, or anything, please email me at [email protected] or use the built-in Suggestomatic(TM) on the new website. That is partially why it’s still in preview mode -- so I can polish it a little more.

I’m in the process of upgrading both Tiki Central and this new site, but until that is completed it’s not going to be able to handle too much traffic, which is the other reason the site is still in “preview” mode.

The site is called Monolux. The game is called Rocknor’s Bad Day.

Check it out here:

PS. Now that the game is finished I can get around to doing some improvements to Tiki Central. Ah! Finally!

Wow! Looks great Hanford - too bad us Mac people can't try it out though....

A Mac version may be on its way.... I just need to make enough money off of the PC version to buy a Mac first.

Hmmmmm...I love the look of the game, and puzzlers are my favorite.

However, when playing I had a strong sense of deja vu. Then it hit me. This game is just an updated version of "Chips Challenge". Sure it has better graphics and a slightly different story line. But other than that, the same game.

It's easy to make that comparison, esp. after playing just the first few levels. But as the game progresses you'll see a lot original elements, puzzles, and a focus on a different kind of gameplay than what Chip's Challenge has to offer. And all the levels are new.

Soko-ban, Chip's Challenge, Indy's Desktop Adventures, Castles of Dr. Creep, Boulderdash are just a partial list of the games that inspired me, many of those games all having similar concepts ... but there's a lot of new twists in Rocknor's Bad Day that none of those games have.

okay, I'll stop spamming now

Good luck with the game Hanford, and if there's anyone who deserves the honour of a critique-free spam, it's you! Now get some of those Tiki Central shirts available as well, and hopefully some $$$ will be flying in yr direction to help keep TC alive.

I am not a big gamer by any stretch of the imagination. But I loved Chip's Challenge now I love Rocknor.
I highly recommend this game even to non-gamers like myself.

Hey- cool game, Hanford!

The puzzles are definitely more challenging and fun than any Chip whatchamacallit game.

Great character; Rocknor. Love his voice.

Keep the games coming!

Oh yeah! And thanks to Kon Kiki who provided Rocknor's voice in the game!
