The show is now SOLD OUT !!
Thanks to all who made the effort to purchase tickets (thru paypal etc)
A very special thanks to APE for arranging this "up close and personal show" at our humble Tiki bar!!
Looking forward to being in Ape's jungle on Sunday...

I can't wait for this show--I'm flying up Sunday afternoon just for this (and going straight to work from LAX first thing Monday morning)! Yep, that's how much I'm jonesing for APE.

I get into the Oakland airport about 1ish, and the show starts at 5... any locals up for a late lunch/early dinner or other pre-show adventure?

I have one extra ticket that I bought for a friend who can't make it, PM/email me if you still need a ticket.

Great to hear you're gonna be there, Humuhumu.
Although the show's at 5pm, we'll be opening the doors and serving food (Including Cafe Rustica's delicious menu) at 4pm. Rustica-located downstairs-is open all day.

Al, you guys rock! The most fun and original act I have ever seen!!!

Wish I was in the bay area for this!!

M

Pre-Ape drinks from 1:00pm onward at Trader Vic's Emeryville. Come on out and welcome Humu to town (yeah, like she's never here.) and enjoy a mid-day schnockering.

T

Trader Vic's - my thoughts exactly! And we can toast my new job!

Humuhumu: Do you still have the extra ticket? Looks like it will just be me as Mrs. Pineapple will be repeatedly watching the end of the Tour de France and going through withdrawls.

Tiki Vixen: Mrs P is dying to get her jacket back. Will you bring it if you come?
Thanks!

H

Congratulations, Tiki-bot! What a relief that must be. The extra ticket is all yours.

Sunday afternoon drunkenness at Trader Vics... I love decadence.

What a show !! I purchased a ticket on a whim, not knowing what to expect. Am I glad I did !!! This was just an incredible experience !!
Ape was awesome, the Conga Lounges drinks were outstanding. This place just keeps getting better and better !! Kudos to all involved.

T

Ape put on one of their best sets in a while last night - great show guys! And the Okohlehau was awesome! Thanks to Mike & Mano for putting this on.

I'll put up some pics tonight.

Thanks once again to Ape (and Otto) for making this a truly amazing show.
Thanks to the attendees, as well.
Here's some pics - sorry they're so big. I've tried decreasing the image size, but no difference

Tiki-bot hoards the bread products:

Martiki & Mig:

Rebecca & Scrimshaw (although to me, darling, you shall always be Lui the Glick):

Mig got the suckiest fortune ever:

A fine, monobrowed example of why women should never be represented on mugs:

This fellow's pipe looks more like an aborted speech bubble. How do they train the people who paint these???:

At the show:

Mig's drink was unusually tasty, and it had peanuts floating in it:

Tiki-bot offers me one of his really delicious cheesy poufs (what are they really called, Conga Mike?):

Lane & Frank:

Eucalyptus? Is hard.:

The boys, doin' their thing:

Al does his thing:

The tiki at intermission--it was really incredibly hard, like carving concrete, apparently:

Frank relaxes with a little Okolehao:

Martiki & Rebecca:

Conga Mike:

APE starts up again:

Otto:

Tiki-bot:

Otto looking like his mother posed him:

The lovely Mrs. Conga Mike:

Lane:

Rebecca & me:

Lane redux:

Tiki-bot & Scrimshaw:

Buncha people:

'Nother buncha people:

Crazy Al putting finishing touches on the tiki:

Relaxing on the Conga Lounge patio:

Me & Lane:

A buncha APEs:

I'm not quite sure what this is all about:

Raffling off the tiki:

Me & Frank:

Technicolor Frank:

A late-arriving Mr. Sleepy:

Afterparty at the Mallard:

Thanks again for such a wonderful get-together! I had such a fabulous time, it was well worth the crazy jaunt.

MORE APE!!
