Has anyone seen this site? And is this site created by someone on the list?

http://www.tikimac.com

They sell computer peripherals like "lava usb" cables and "Kuna" hard drives...built with "Tiki Engineering."

M

Okay, you got me. I went to the site expecting to see Macs painted like Tikis.

Aloha!

A couple of points of Tiki interest on this site. The currently have a neat Tiki-filled cartoon on their intro page at the moment:

http://www.tikimac.com/indextransform.html

They also have a picture of a wonderful Tiki on their main page at the moment, hooked to a computer:

http://www.tikimac.com/home/index.html

I asked them about what that was, and they claim it is a type of flash-memory drive that will be coming out in October.

Could be interesting. :)

If you notice it the animation is by the Troika the same group that did the Hukilau site for Swanky.

So....is this company run by someone on this site? Inquiring minds would like to know...Hmm, I see that Ino is from Boulder, while TikiMac is in Denver. The spice, the worms...is there a connection?

I'm drawing a blank. Can someone please ID the tune playing in the background for me? I know I know it, and I probably even have it, but For the life of me I can't think of the name.

Speaking of "Tiki Macs". Have you seen this page:

http://www.modyourmac.com/tikiproject/

Someone took their PowerMac and hot-glued bamboo, torches, and other cool stuff to it. :)

I was expecting either a Polynesian burger, or a new Exotica band with Lindsey Buckingham on ukelele.

I don't know....I was kind of expecting full blown hand carved tiki macs! Now wouldn't that be something? That memory drive is pretty damn cool though.

Theme from the Apartment, though not the version I'm used to.

http://www.thinkgeek.com has little office cubicle figures for sale. Someone sent in this picture:

It's a shame this product died. Seems like a good opportunity for a DYI project. Who's got plastic tikis for sale right now?

Interesting idea but I don't think the execution was successful, looks like no unifying design idea and made up as they went along, the brown tiki god on a brown bckground hardly even shows and the lava tube and lei elements are kinda ...too much.
