Red Rum has introduced Vodoo Spiced Rum. Check it out:

Nice Tiki pics.

Spoke with Southern Wine & Spirits (distributor), and found that at this time in the Orange County, CA area, "Beverages & More" have Voodoo Rum, as well as (supposidely) most Albertson's Supermarkets. I called Hi-Time Liquors (my favorite place), but they don't have it yet. I called Beverages & More (I called all 4 near my location: Newport, Orange, Brea, Irvine) and all have Voodoo in stock. The good thing in addition to that? It's normally $15.99, and this week it happens to be on sale for $12.99. Go get one! (or two or three...) Thanks BONBONVIC for the initial heads up on this rum! It's got a very cool label, now let's see how the rum is!

I remember reading that the original Vodoo Rum comes in a coffin with a Tiki on the front of the coffin. I have not been able to procure or see one yet.

I just got an E-Mail from Redrum promoting Voodoo Spiced rum. I posted a picture on my lame web site. Hers a link for anyone interested.

I've has it for about a month now. The label is great, but the rum is only so-so. It tastes a little thin. Sailor Jerry is a better spiced rum, even though it's a higher proof and a little rough around the edges. My favorite, though, is a weird bathtub rum from some guys in the British Virgin Islands. Really vanilla flavor. Ask me for a taste when you're next at mi casa.

VooDoo? why didn't they call it "Taboo". at least then there would be a Tiki connection. Or is there something I am missing?

I just saw it at my local Albertson's. Had to purchase it for the tiki on the label.

I think voodoo is close to taboo, which was the interpretation for the Hawaiian kapu.

The logo is great...check out the auction I have on ebay:

I have a bottle and I think it tastes alright.
Not as good as Sailor Jerrys' like Martiki said.
