Recently acquired this postcard from the 1960s showing a very cool tiki train at Newport Dunes Park in Newport Beach, California. Do any of you locals remember this train or a tiki-theme to the park? Tiki Bong? Sabu [ Edited by: Sabu The Coconut Boy on 2004-11-11 16:06 ] |

Spent quite a bit of time at Newport Dunes in the 60's but don't recall any Tiki Train. I would have remembered that as I was already Tiki "aware" then Trustar "somewhat aware now" |

There was a place with filthy water kids could swim, and they had cartoony whales as diving platforms. (Sounds like a line from a Wasnotwus song) Newport wasn't hugly developed way back and in the '60s, I can only think it would be something like that area or maybe to shuttle people from parking to the sea or shops. Cool photo tho |
