Tahitian and Hawaiian Language?

Does anyone know of a good resource (online would be great) for this? Something in the way of an English to Tahitian dictionary would be good / something addressing grammer issues even better!

you could find books on Amazon... I have hawaiian-english dictionnary and severals tahitian grammar books (but in french).
Hawaiian english are easy to find online.

I'm sorry I can't help w/ the Tahitian. However, if you're looking for an online Hawaiian dictionary, wehewehe.org is an invaluable resource.

There are a couple out there, but I found this one to be one of the better ones.
It's not "Gecko tested" though.

On amazon a new book came out about a year ago, about $75 but a full Tahitian - English Dictionary. Not too much grammer but all the words you would ever need. Also the BYU site has a section on Tahitian and some basic terms with recordings so you can hear it. Here is the website. http://lc.byuh.edu/tahitian/lesson/tahiti.html

There are actually a TON of sites as you describe. Look at the links section of Tiki Bar Review Pages (towards the bottom in the Hawaii section), and I will also try to dig up a few others I have bookmarked.

I've been speaking pidgin Rapanui for the past week, which is close to Tahitian, so this is a topic at the forefront of my mind right now!

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin has a link to the Hawaiian Electronic Library's Hawaiian Dictionaries. On the site you can search: a Hawaiian Dictionary, a Place Names of Hawai'i Dictionary, a Hawai'i Place Names Dictionary (I don't know the difference between these two), and "Mamako Kaiao."

Alohaworld.com has a completely listing of Hawai'ian and Tahitian books, dictionaries, and other learning items. If not, go on line with Barnes & Nobles who will order it if they don't have it. Best to have a hardcopy of something that you want to refer to. And usually in the back of the book(s) there are references to other books that will help. There is also Instant Imersion CDs for languages - also on alohaworld.com
