OK, Tiki vets, help me choose...

I am about to invest in one of BasicHip's custom 8-disc samplers, and as I am still green as grass, I'd like some suggestions as to what I should choose, with an eye towards "essential." My choices:

Jimmy Namaro - Driftwood
Paul Mark - Golden Memories From Japan
Anita Darian - East of the Sun
Miriam Burton - African Lament
Chick Floyd - Hula La
Don Tiare - The Music of Les Baxter
Mike Simpson - Jungle Odyssey
Ted Auletta - Exotica
Ethel Azama - Exotic Dreams
Paul Mark - East to West
Sondi Sodsai - Sondi
Augie Colon - Chant of the Jungle
Richard Hayman - Voodoo!
Phil Moore - Polynesian Paradise
Marty Wilson - Jun'gala
The Out-Islanders - Polynesian Fantasy
Martin Denny/Si Zentner - Exotica Suite
Axel Stordahl - Jasmine and Jade
Gene Rains - Lotus Land
Elisabeth Waldo - Maracatu
Tak Shindo - Mganga!
Stanley Wilson - Pagan Love
Johnny Richards - The Rites of Diablo

Also these from Les Baxter:

Ports of Pleasure
African Jazz
Jewels of the Sea
The Passions
Teen Drums
Sacred Idol
The Primitive and the Passionate
Alakazam the Great

So... if you were me...?

Hey Kitten,

All the above!!! Everything listed is essential Exotica. You can't go wrong with anything!

Cheers,
Jeff

Pass on the Sondi. It's just quirky lounge, not much Exotica.

I would pick these, many original sounding records, all contain great exotica (yes Sondi too!) and all is tough to find.

Phil Moore - Polynesian Paradise
Jimmy Namaro - Driftwood
Miriam Burton - African Lament
Sondi Sodsai - Sondi
Paul Mark - East to West
Paul Mark - Golden Memories From Japan
Anita Darian - East of the Sun
Mike Simpson - Jungle Odyssey

So... if you were me...?

Thanks, all, for the suggestions. Much appreciated!

Skaal,
kittenhead
