Not to get sappy or anything but this is the first time probably since he died that I'm a little sad. I guess that's what happens when you watch that "Last Days of Elvis" episode of the E-True Hollywood Story. Jeez..he woulda been 70 today? Happy B-Day and TCB. |

Elvis was one of a kind in the right place and definitely in the right time. It doesnt matter how corny his movies were or how his physique degraded during his life, Elvis is pure entertainment. Its just pure FUN.... Happy Birthday to the King |

I was watching alot of the Elvis movies over the weekend. Not in their entirety, but I was in and out of most of them. I've seen alot of them over the years and it's no secret that alot fo them are below par. in the midst of all the bar room brawls and rear-screen projection though, alot of them do have their moments, usually Elvis' musical performances. I was watching 'Fun In Alcapulco' over the weekend and the scene when Elvis does 'Bossa Nova Baby'...that's hot!! Elvis is on fire and it's worth watching the movie just for that. I also caught part of 'King Creole' last night and the scene where Elvis does the song about New Orleans with the real expressive lighting was amazing as well. It also looked like it was a pretty good film with some top actors like Walter Mathau and Vic Morrow. It was on a little too late so I couldn't watch all of it. I've seen parts of 'Loving You' and that looks like an amazing movie. Elvis' second and I think, his first flick in color. Close to when he was just starting out, and he still has that early edge that got sorta watered down in the movies he made after getting out of the Army. Viva Las Vegas, saw that years ago in a revival theater. Really colorful, great numbers, Ann-Margaret is 23 years old and hot beyond belief. Now..those guys must have gotten it on. Right? That's been the rumor or fact over the years? Whatever...Elvis was/is a tremendous talent. Completely mind blowing that his image is still going this strong all these years later. |

Nojo Nixon and Skid Roper said it best... When I look out into your eyes out there, Let me tell you. Elvis is everywhere, Man oh man What I want you to see Elvis is everywhere, man! Elvis is in your jeans. He's in the young, the old, Elvis is in everybody out there. Michael J. Fox has no Elvis in him. And Elvis is in Joan Rivers Elvis is everywhere, Man, there's a lot of unexplained phenomenon Who built the pyramids? Yeah, man you see guys walking down the street You know whats going on in that Bermuda Triangle? Aahh! The Sailing Elvis! Cause Elvis is a perfect being. Soon all will become Elvis. Why do you think they call it evolution anyway? Elvis is everywhere That's right ladies and gentlemen, Talk to it! That's right! Like the king Everybody! He says "Peoples!""Peoples!" Elvis is everywhere Elvis is everywhere Elvis! |
