trader vic mug unglazed?

i just got a trader vic hula girl mug that is unglazed. the detail on this mug is amazing. is there any way to glaze it or put a clear coat on it? will it be safe for me to hand wash it? it gets dirty very easily.

you might find i local ceramics+paint crafty studio to fire a glaze on it... or send it to me and i'll do it!!

but the best is to leave it be.... handle it with white gloves and put it in a hermetically sealed glass display case

might get it glazed, it would be one of a kind. i have no idea how rare an unglazed tiki mug is.
