Nope. That was the now shuttered "Hollywood And Dine" - which had several buffeteria style food counters - one of which was a Don The Beachcomber one....

"Hollywood + Dine: A new food court being placed in the bottom corner of Hollywood. It will include:

Don The Beachcomber: This walk-up restaurant will serve Tropical Treats such as smoothies and fruit.

Hollywood Roosevelt Cine Grill: Will be a fast food grill restaurant.

Perinos Pizzeria: Will serve pizza and other italian cuisine.

Schwat's Delicatessen: A deli selling different sandwitches, etc.

Light Snacks: A lemonade stand."

"Pizza Oom Mow Mow" (shudder...) is located on the other end of the park...

At least Pizza-Oom-Mau-Mau has cool lamps and Disney/Cartoon Tikis out front.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Tangaroa. Shudder.

The one inside the restaurant is more your standard Florida-Style, but the two outside just rub me wrong. You know what I think it is? I think they remind me too much of the "Party Gods" T-shirt by Jimmy Buffett:

I know in the old days there used to be some fairly cartoony-looking tikis, but I just can't get the Jimmy Buffett connotation out of my head with the Pizza Oom Mow Mow idols.

Let me be a little more precise: the lamps are cool, the Tiki's are outside. :wink: Although I do almost like the idea of a "surfboard licker" Tiki.

better goofy tikis then no tikis, plus the chow was good!!.
