For anyone looking for the Design Toscano tiki at a reasonable price, there's one on ebay now http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29460&item=3963611781&rd=1

(Not my auction)

This seller has already sold quite a few of these. I'm curious to find out what major chain store these are available from.

Not a bad price at all. I have the one from Design Toscano and that one was $49.95 + s/h. This one was only $18 and he's got more too. I ended up buying one myself.

It's about time resin tikis are becoming popular.

Here's another: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4364322064&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

For years I have seen resin pigs with wings or frogs playing guitars at the store and I wondered when they would start making something that people actually wanted like tikis.

Mojo, I got mine for $28 CAD(around $20 US) from a Walmart up here.

I'd buy one of the others at that price...the Enchanted Tiki Room Knock off...maybe one will crop up on e-bay! That's a great price.

Thanks for the heads up, Pop - I picked one up too! Looks to be about 2/3 the size of the Design Toscano, but still cool at under 20 bux.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up Pop!

Hmmmm, makes me want to go to Big Lots and see if they have 'em. They've got to be in some store, but where?

This other seller has sold a few of tikis of a different design, I also wonder what store's selling these.

Thanks for the hot tip. I just got my own "large tiki monster".

T

word of caution if you buy the tikis at big lot, or probably any place that sells resin tikis. Ask them to wrap your tikis or ask for a couple of extra plastic bags and wrap them up yourself.
I bought three of them at Big Lots and the girl opened up a large bag and dumped all three of them into the bag while I was searching through my purse for my wallet. All I heard was clunking.Yup, broke off one of the tiki's antlers, horns or whatever you call em'. I was able to carefully use some goriila glue and fixed him up good enough to sit on a cabinet in the kitchen.

Actually, if you compare that one with the Design Toscano Gods of the Three Pleasures pole, you can easily tell it's a weak knock-off, and at only 17" it's about half the size.

But, then again, it is only $9.99, so...

Thanks for the heads up, Pop - I picked one up too!

Tikigreg put the heads up out there. Thanks Tikigreg!

Da Nada!

"Available to United States Only" - story of my life.

Ah well, it would cost abother $20 - $30 to get it shipped up here anyhow, so maybe it's not worth it to me.
Bigger is almost always better :)

Thanks for the heads up though!
