From his website:
Coming soon will be the inauguration of the first Tiki bar in Mexico City for which I designs the logo, posters and mugs, among other things.

Anybody interested in a Mai-Rita maybe?

I wonder if Munktiki is doing the mugs for him. Nice looking mugs. His last Munktiki mug is one of my favorites.

Know of any tiki mugs with Hecho En Mexico? How about Day of the Dead meets Tiki, little too bizarro world? Might be cool.

Yea, the same guy doing the Exotica print, right? Wonderful new mug, nothing like this done before, where do I sign up for one!

If Im not mistaken, almost all of the TikiFarm mugs are made in Mexico.

Made in Mek-E-co thats what it says on the bottom. The site is cool, took some time to look it over. Hard to get it in English, I think, but art is the language of the world.

I wonder if he knows about the Mexico City Mauna Loa Restaurant(s)? Critiki mentions a now defunt one & a current one that may or may not be related.

Those mugs are sweet!

Indeed: http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=5759&forum=2

But perhaps it's splitting hairs as this place has huge potential based on the mug and graphics. Not sure about the name though!

And the question on everyone's lips.......will the mug be made available to people who can't make the journey to Mexico City?

Trader Woody

Dr. Alderete emailed a response to the burning
question on availability of the mugs:

thanks for post the news in the tiki central forum!
The bar is not open yet, I think they will be in the next two weeks.
Coming soon I have the mugs available in my site. They where made here in Mexico City.

If you want, you can to put this information in the forum.

BTW, about something that I read in the forum....
the Mauna Loa restaurat is not exist anymore for a few years ago... is a shame, was a great restaurant.
Of course I know this restaurant, but this Tiki Bar is the first "only bar" here in Mexico, and the only real tiki bar by the moment.

Best regards
Jorge

That answers a lot. The mug isn't exactly tiki but very worthy of being in anyone's tiki mug collection. I think that it will be cool to have a mug made in mexico, sold from mexico. And yet that mug looks highy advance. Alien. Creepy Big brain alien for the old horror movies. And that looks like what the Dr. is all about.
