Hail in Miami!

Pages: 1 3 replies

I just experienced a Twighlight Zone moment. On my 56 mile commute to work, it starts to rain hard. "No biggie" I think as the traffic slows down. Then I hear a loud thump against the roof of the car and think "That can't be what I think it is." Two thwunks and a lot of noise in seconds, it sure is.

So get on the phone to have witnesses that I just didn't dream it up. And call the closest Northerner I can remember to find out how should I drive in hail. Never done that one before having grown up in South Florida.

If this isn't a sign of the environment on the world going to hell, what is?

It hailed in North Miami on an 81 F degree day. OMG!!!!!!!

When I lived in Tucson, there was a sudden hailstorm with hail the size of golf balls denting the cars and it was around 100 degrees at the time. :)

It's about 79 up here today, and if we had a hail storm I wouldn't be surprised.

Rain, 50km/h winds, hail, all typical for my location this time of year.

How exciting! I love freak weather.

Some crazy storms in South Florida today for sure. Had a bit of hail in Pompano also. Sky is still rumbling, goes nice with the rum.
