I know that the bird and jungle sounds in much of the classic exotica music came from a variety of sources - human, bird calls, actual sound recordings and percussion instruments. Can anybody tell me the names of specific instruments and bird calls or whistles that can be used on stage to mimic these sounds? Thanks - Manakoora |

Hey Manakoora -- are you a musician, too? I found a CD put out by Oreade Music (http://www.pi.net/~oreade/home.html) that has some pretty good tropical sounds on it. It's one of the few that doesn't also include that damn music they all add now. It's called Paradise Island. The catalog number is ORN 5534-2. I just transfered it onto a mini-disc (small and easy to put in my junk bag), hit play, and then we play. It isn't perfect, but it's the best one I could find, and I listened to a lot of them. Do you play Hawaiian or exotica? Aloha pumehana, |
