Some type of Maple. Possibly Sugar or Hard Maple. The log was good and dry when I started on it, and very easy to cut (not too hard not too soft). |

Very well done freakbear. This is a style we rarely see in tikis and I don't know why since it is very appealing.. Maybe you will start a trend if you keep it up. I really love it without the traditional paint too! It gives it a more masculine look I think. |

Thanks Ben! The finish didn't turn out at all like I expected but I'm happy with the results. Next time I may do some kind of black paint wash or try one of the acrylic color stains to closer simulate the original piece. |
