I just have to say how lucky I am. Here in East Tennessee there is a little AM station that's been playing country for over 50 years. This morning they played mostly Elvis (they played a local boy's record "Shotgun Boogey" a fella from Bristol named Ernie Ford) and just sat around talking about the strange life of Mr. Presley. It must be a real rarity for a station to play old country these days and have that kind of freedom. And they are owned by Clear Channel, which suprises and scares me.

Happy Birthday, indeed! And let's not forget the wonders of the Jungle Room...

"HOLD IT! Let's get one thing straight here, or I'm walking, too! I don't work January the eighth... 'cause that's Elvis' birthday!"

-Gary Busey, from the film "DC Cab"

And Happy Birthday to my lovely wife Paige. Hope she likes the toaster I got here (just kidding ladies)!

Every Jan 8th I remember that line from that movie... Mr T what an actor!

I never thought anyone would ever quote that flick.

Oh yeah Happy Kings Birthday all!

I actually remember Bill Maher more for his role in DC Cab than I remember him as the host of Politically Incorrect.

Oh yeah, when I used to do my radio show, I would start with Gary Busey's quote every time Elvis' b-day rolled around. And I would do an all rockabilly show in honor of the King.
