What to do with a bamboo magazine rack?

Pages: 1 4 replies

I got hold of a nice old bamboo magazine rack, but am at a loss as to what I should actually do with it. Just putting magazines in it looks rather naff, but the way the sides are angled to the base in a V shape make it difficult to use it to display anything.

Anyone who thinks in technicolor have any ideas for such an item?

~Take a small bath towel.
~Roll to fit and fill the bottom portion of the "V" gap.
~After getting the correct size, roll and sew your favorite hawaiian print (from either your local fabric shop or use a hawaiian shirt) around the towel.

Now that the "V" gap is filled, forget about magazines and load up your rack with The Book of Tiki, Night of the Tiki, Aku Aku-The Secret of Easter Island, Bottomless Cocktail: The Art of Shag, and Beachbum Berry's Grog Log & Intoxica! Your newly decorated gap at the bottom of your rack will protect the bottom of the books and will give it sort of a "riser" to take the books out easier.

Just a thought.

Great idea!

Burn it!!
Blahhhh!!!! Bamboo drives me crazy!!!!!
Arggggghhhhh!!!!

That's a damn fine idea, Sugarcaddydaddy.
But using an old shirt? Perhaps I could get Tikifish to do the dirty work...

(And how did you know I had all those books? Goes with the territory I guess.)

Yep, I'll do that one. Cheers!
