Aloha! the on demand stream for this week's Flaming Ukulele Radio Hour is now available, free. Click http://www.wnti.org and scroll down to "wnti programs" and click the Flaming Ukulele Radio Hour logo.

Unfortunately, the system was down to post an on line playlist during the broadcast. I do credit every song during the broadcast.

I will be using this topic thread each week to notify when a new stream is available. i hope it doesn't seem like spam to anyone.

UJ - Just listened to the show for the first time today. I really liked it. Thanks!

mahalo, floratina! every new listener counts at this point, as the number of individual listeners (as opposed to the number of hits) will impact npr's discussions as they decide whether to syndicate the show nationally. if appropriate, please tell some friends.

maybe i should make that mucho mahalo!

New Flaming Ukulele Radio Hour started streaming last Friday, August 19. Features 2 Haole Kats trax, a string of rare ukulele tunes from the Paumotu Archipelago, Raratong and Samaoa.

I was on the road playing and emceeing a festival in Philly for the weekend, and this is the first chance i had to post this reminder.

Awesome UJ! Cannot believe I have missed this so far.

Have you thought about doing this as Vegas Vic and going "podcast"? I think you could get more people aware that are missing out on what your are doing so well.

Keep up the great work!

Mahalo, Fez Ape! As to podcasting, it's a whole other level of net-work. Right now we're focusing on national distribution via broadcast public radio.

Eventually pod-casting might become a reality. I'll ask my associates and get a consensus.

dunno why this is, and i'm not trying to start a tech discussion. it seems to be the way it is and i have no control over that.

This week is a steel guitar extravaganza, with yours truly chopping chords on uke, for steel guitarist Mike Esposito.

Felix the Cat Kuehn -- known locally as the King of Tiki -- is also playing uke throughout the show.

Thanks for listening.

Great show!
Thanks.

K

Yeah!

Nice work, Waitiki dudes!

HK

Sounding great, guys! Abe - That was a great solo arrangement of You are the Sunshine of My Life.

Thanks, Uke, for your efforts to get TIKI music out there in the world!

Josh

i just got word from randy wong (aka professahhummingflowah)that Jason Tagg took Waitiki/Akamai Brain Collective into the tv studio today to record an entire episode of midnight ukulele disco with them.

jason got a good soundtrack at the studio, so i'm sure this will be one to watch. http://www.ukuleledisco.com is the tv show's homepage. it's also seen every other tuesday at 9 pm on Manhattan Neighborhood Network in nyc.

yup, jason was kind enough to invite us into his studio too! we were able to record a couple that we didn't quite get to on uke jackson's show -- the Chick Corea jazz tune "Spain" (which was the very last thing you heard from us on the show, as we went to the hour), and abe doing a solo rendition of "skylark" (jazz ballad), are just two of the tunes we did for jason. i also cued jason into TC, so hopefully we'll see him here too. =)

nice mix of music, if i do say so myself -- "crazed mugs" and "songs of the volcano" (see topic 'papua new guinea string bands) of particular interest to some members here.
