Check Party City. They still may have some cheap plastic stuff hidden away. They usually have inflatable tiki stuff that's relatively sturdy. Even if your kid wrecks it it won't cost that much.

... go to the pet store... every once in a while they'll have tiki toys for the dogs to chew up...

Hilo Hattie has some plush Hawaiian toys -- they may not be exactly what you're looking for -- my son had and still has no interest in plush toys.

When he was 2, he loved to grab some tiny Westwood tiki mugs I had on a shelf, take them into the dining room, and line them up on the dining room table. After a couple of instances where he dropped them, I found some plastic tiki shot glasses at Spencer's Gifts and those went over fine.

http://www.tropicsexpress.com sells plastic tumblers and such. I'm not sure if they are the cheapest, so I suggest comparing prices.
