I just heard that the Museum of the American Cocktail reports that the Torani company plans to stop making Amer. As many of you know, this is the only available version of the French Amer Picon in the U.S., and it is used in many classic cocktails including the Picon Punch (which is popular in the large Basque community here in California and Nevada). Please contact Torani and plead with them to continue making Amer in the U.S. |

I flipped through Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Coctails last night. There were quite a few recipes that call for Amer Picon. To let this discontinueance pass without a wimper would be something we may be kicking ourselves for later. All who read, please use the link posted and tell Torani to keep on keeping on. |
