Indeed, I've had more Scorpions out of clamshells than actual Scorpion bowls! Hale Hawaii serves theirs in small 3-4 person shells, while Sabu and I serve ours in a big-ass 8-10 person shell. Sabu actually has a real, full-size giant clamshell we tried to use once, but the shell alone weighs about 30 pounds! This makes it rather unwieldly to fill with booze and then carry aflame to the waiting masses (to chanting and tribal drum beats, of course...). We were thinking of building a litter to carry it on (think "Farrell's Zoo", but without the plastic animals), but I think he should use the clamshell for a fountain instead... |
