A friend of mine gave me this marble slab and asked me to make her something. I've never worked with marble before, so this is todays progress, so far.

You're an ambitious bugger aren't you? This will be the first marble carving I've seen and should be interesting to watch the progress. Go Thom, go!

Love it! How hard is the carving? Are you using an angle grinder?
This opens up the way for Tiki Coffins and Tiki Mausoleums with hanging pufferfish!
Cool Idea!

Weren't all the Greek and Roman temples made of marble? Why not a tiki temple? Are you useing stone chisels?

Yikes! I'll be watching this one. Are you using rotary tools/diamonds? I bet that will be really great looking when you get it done.

Thanks guys, I used a combination of tools. This stuff carves pretty easy but it also breaks easy. It takes along time to do a little work. The marble is for a window sill so I'm pretty sure its not the best quality.
G, the rotary tool worked good but I used a tile bit it worked better than diamond. most done with a old junk chisle, more pics to come soon.

Should look really cool if you polish it all up. Eager to see how it comes out.
