This is a tiny little something I have had on my site forever. It gets lots of hits, but no one ever enters the contest. So now I added a prize and I hope I will finally get some entries. Maybe not. Just more peeping Toms.

Our own mrtikibar won the January contest and will be receiving his super awesome Swank Pad Mix CD soon.

The new contest is up for February. Go enter!

That's right. I'm the defending champ. And no way any of you pencil-neck farmers is going to take my title.

There is something about those cartoons that leaves me unable to think of something funny... I think I'm too hung up on her giant torpedoes. Normally I am not at aloss for words (just check my amount of posts - yikes!) but it's 2 months in a row now I am stumped by these drawings...

I find that I am over-thinking these things. mrtikibar's entry was perfect. So simple and straightforward that is was overlooked.

Go with a quick, gut reaction I think.

I haven't come up with my own entry for these either.

But please don't let mrtikibar win again, he already has the CD! And, wouldn't you know, I like his entry so far... But there is a month yet to go.

Swanky,
Received Swank Pad Lounge Mix (first edition) plus extras! This is a very impressive mix that will take some time, and some cocktails, to process properly. I will give it a test flight this weekend.
mahalo,

I could be deceptive and say Swanky's "Swank Pad Lounge Mix" is a piece of crap, thus dissuading competition in his monthly contest. But bad mana would flow to me if I lie so I must encourage you all to give it a shot because this mix is, well, ultra-swank. Two thumbs up, way up, from me and Kitty.

"May I recommend the Blowfish Surprise, ma'am?"

I'm no damn good at that kinda thing either...but that CD clearly rocks. Mrs. emspace and I will be working on it as the day goes along (errand day today) and see if we can't come up with something better. Two boobs, I mean HEADS, are better than one :)

Damn, I thought I had that one in the bag, but I concede to greater talent. Also, It would be fun to see a list of runner up's!

Okay, I have to say that we want a "clean" caption. Okay, well, a 50's clean caption. It has to pass the censors. Raunchy is not going to win. As Seinfeld says, if you have to go dirty, you haven't perfected it yet. I think this picture is pretty loaded, but there is a perfect caption out there somewhere. One of you guys has it. I know.

Hmm, howzabout:

"Oooooooohhhhh Gaaaaaawwwwwd!!! Urmf! Argh! UNGH!!!"

Really, I just thought it up by myself!

A little late this month, but the winner has been named for March and the April contest is posted. The winner is Lou Zucaro. If he's a TC member, I do not know his handle.

S

Congrats Lou (if you are a TC member).

I must not be studying all the pre-1970 cartoons from my vintage Playboy mag collection very well.

"Take your time miss!"

Hmmmm....

Swanky posted on 04/19/2003

Honestly, again, too many of the entries last month were too dirty. Subtle wins.

So what was April's winning entry?

S
Swanky posted on 05/07/2003

It's up now. Shawn Sheridan won for April. The May picture is wide open. You could go a million different ways with it.

S

Hey Swanky~

Luv ya man, but c'mon...

How about a winner for the Hugh Hefner version in addition to the current Mister Rogers Neighborhood versions?

Those of us that are older than 30 years old, can stomach reading "the too dirty" ones. Hec, we've read "dirtier" stuff right here on TC.

Your contests are greatly appreciated, and yes, it is YOUR contest, so don't take this as a put down or insult. It's just me vocalizing what I personally think. Maybe I'm alone on this thinking, maybe I'm not. Maybe actually reading all of the funny, and sometimes quite dirty, collection of pre-mid 1970's Playboy cartoons that I have acquired has twisted this mind of mine.

Just my 2 coconuts worth.

Sick&TwistedCaddyDaddy

P.S. Congratulations Shawn on winning the April contest.

The genre calls for captions that would make it in Gee Whiz or Zip. I am not going to update it to something that would go in a modern magazine.

And I think it takes more thinking and creativity to "keep it clean."

And I just don't find the phallus and testicle references that are most often submitted very funny. That's the easy line and the obvious one.

Of the 13 entries this month, all 13 were on the clean side. The "dirtiest" one was something like "Could you tell me where the headlights are?"

The actual caption was: "Well go ahead, ask something." At least that one makes sense. Quite often, they do not. They are just something to pass these ultra-lite porn mags off as humor.

I have finally gotten back on track and have annouced the new winner and posted a new contest.

S

Okay, I have made the contest quarterly because I am too slow for monthly. But the Winter winner is our own Unga Bunga!

Just wanted to add that you missed the boat on the Ward cartoon in message #1. The buxom young lady is an usher in a movie theater, so obviously the caption should be something like:
"I know what you're thinking, but I'm not the 'double feature'!"

S
Swanky posted on 01/23/2004

It's a contest Moai. Email your entry in. The first page is the new contest.
