I'm planning a trip to British Columbia this May and I read about this tropical-themed hotel in Prince George in the Moon Handbook for BC: The dining rooms look OK but I wonder what the Monsoons Lounge looks like? |

Hey Dean - Look for these while you're up in BC also (I have no other data other than what you see here). Courtyard Restaurant Tiki Village, Vernon, BC (250) 503-5566 |

I shared my list of BC tiki possibilities in this thread here recently: http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=2473&forum=1 And while I've got you in the room, James, is there a way to get your special link to Amazon.ca to order Tiki Road trip? - I know you said going through a special link is better for you, but it;'s an amazon.com link. |

Thanks for the BC tips JT! We're going to Victoria so we can look for Lum's. Didn't plan on visiting Vernon as we will be going from Vancouver to Jasper by train (the Canadian). Found the Tiki Village web site and it looks completely remodeled anyway: http://www.tikivillagevernon.com Still have the shoju screens in some rooms though. Our plan is to not drive at all on this trip: Amtrak from Oakland to Seattle; Amtrak to Vancouver; VIA Rail to Jasper, Alberta; Bus to Banff, Alberta, and back to Jasper; Via Rail Jasper to Prince Rupert; BC ferry from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy, Vancouver Island; bus and train to Victoria; ferry to Seattle; Amtrak back to Oakland |

Thanks tikifish for the reminder of that post. The "Tiki Restaurant" in Penticon is at the address of this hotel http://tikishores.penticton.com/ Doesn't look promising. It reminds me of Florida where they call practically everything tiki. Didn't someone once say "If it says tiki on it, it should have tiki in it!" Hmmm, was it Trader Vic or Don the Beachcomber who said that? |

When are you going to be in Vancouver? I'll be up the last 2 1/2 weeks of May for business and vacation. I know we have at least a couple people on here from Vancouver. I think we'll have to set something up. |

Not sure exactly yet but most likely during first 2 weeks of May. Would do anything to see the Polynesian Room at the Waldorf Hotel! |

Visited BC Last summer... Absolutely zero tiki found. The ceasar drink is good, but too much like a bloody Mary... |
