Is there a liquor that tastes like cloves? I'm doing the old mad scientist thing lately with what bottles I have left, and I had a request by a customer to make something with clove liquor. But does that exist? |

I've heard of Czech spirits with clove flavors, but have never had any. You might try making some of course... Ku Ku |

Phillips, based in the UK do a range of old style traditional syrups from Grenadine to Shrub and they produce one called 'Pink Cloves' which is about as alcoholic as a strong beer.

I once had a margarita in Mexico that tasted a little strange. The bartender said it had "Damiana" in it. According to him it was made from cloves. Pretty sure you can find it at most liquor stores. |

Damiana is an herb unto itself. As such the liqueur is made from the herb. Supposedly an aphrodesiac. Hmmmmmmm..... Ahu |

Angostura Bitters smells like nutmeg and cloves to me, and it's alcoholic. I like to put some in my egg nog. |

Ah Becherovka. A friend of mine and Fellow Moai brought a bottle of this back from Europe. Good stuff. I'd recommend it. I did make a clove liqueur after posting to this thread that turned out fine, but it would need diluted to be like Becherovka. Very strong. It is very handy for making Sazerac style falernum. In fact, it makes it all too easy. Ahu |
