Aloha! Update! We still here in Boston! Ok, sorta - the Mayor is off in Puerrrrrrrto Rico playing with the likes of poncho sanchez and giovanni hidalgo. Professor Humming Flower is off in Japan getting inspired for new music. Mr. Ho is detoxing from Esquivel and prepping for some wild summer music gigs, and the laughing boy - well, he is still.....laughing....we don't know why. MexicoMexico was super cool. The 21-pc WAITIKI Orchestrotica had a sellout crowd of over 1000 people and we met lots of great fans and friends. TV and newspapers covered us extensively - see our website (http://www.waitiki.com/press.cfm w/ more to come once translated). Pictures and a larger update is on our glog at http://blog.myspace.com/waitiki (it's like a blog except mixed with rum so it's a glog). Word has it that this is only the beginning of the Orchestrotica in Mexico. We may even have our own salsa soon + new shows down there. The Near Future?Sat, Aug 5 we do an esquivel-free show at the Lizard. That's right: old skool WAITIKI Exotica with a possible appearance by the coconut twins! Don't worry - the Orchestrotica will return again - it's just that most are hungover from margaritas in Mexico with el Muñecon. (WAITIKI has a live podcast with El Muñecon/Lounge King at http://theloungeking.com/podcasts.html - a great ipod subscription for lounge lovers! ) Superfuture:An Orchestrotica-plays-Esquivel DVD is being put out later this year (produced by Br. Cleve on Sony/BMG) from the show in Mexico. Stay tuned for that! Until next time, WAITIKI says okonkuluku and see you in August if not online before (secret webcast concert TBA?)! well, we think there is talk of next year - we don't think that they like to program the same shows twice to give other groups a chance to tikify the night! |

Hey Mr. Ho! It's good to hear you guys are doing well. Tiki Tina and I really enjoyed meeting you in Phx awhile back and it sounds like things are really working out well for you and 'da brudda's. Let us know when you're in town again. Bamboo Boyd |
