Brubeck on Shelter Island

Pages: 1 2 replies

Bumped into a couple at the Bali Hai last night raving about Dave Brubeck who had just finished a set at the Half Moon across the street.

Although gushing, they weren't actually very descriptive nor could they recall any highpoints of the setlist.

How did I miss this one?!

Are any TC Ohana having attended the show willing to give a brief review so I can imagine I was there?

I saw him a couple of months ago when here was here in DC. He played at the National Cathederal. The first set was stellar. Good mix of old and new compositions. The man plays piano as good as ever.

Second set was a different story. He and the band were fine. The thing is they did this composition from the late 60s that was accompanied by the Cathederal choir. While I could recognize the talent, it just was not for me.

Still, an excellent show. Try to see him as he is not getting any younger.

Hey...take F-I-V-E!
