I just got this from the tiki tones mailer:
They don't play that often, so get your lounge on early and get psyched for their performance at tiki oasis! [ Edited by: Polynesiac 2007-01-16 19:26 ] |

Yes I was there for that, and I was just a surf fan and barely knew anything about tiki at the time, and wondered who all the weird people in Hawiian shirts were? Jeff(bigtikidude) [ Edited by: bigtikidude 2007-01-18 19:20 ] |

chris, what's up? I haven't seen them in several years, but the last couple of shows I saw were without shag. I bet he's got a pretty hectic schedule with his paintings and art openings and family and such. So, no I do not believe that he is still a part of the band or would be playing this show. Great music none the less though!!!! It hasn't been updated in a while, but their website may have more info: PS - does anyone know who carved the tiki pendants they had for sale? |

Hey Polynesiac, Shag was also in the Huntington Cads, where they played a mix of Shadows styled Instros, with Exotic flavors mixed in. Jeff(bigtikidude) [ Edited by: bigtikidude 2007-01-19 20:06 ] [ Edited by: bigtikidude 2007-01-19 20:07 ] |

Here's a pic from the Tiki Tones show at Las Vegas Grind 2000. If anyone's interested these pages have more pics from the 2000 Grind, and the 1999 Las Vegas Grind. I miss the days of the Grind, the Rockaround, and the Dionysus Demolition Derbys! Never did see the Huntington Cads neither no how. Shag's cover on their Go Exotic LP is classic - just a simple illo and very "Cartoon Modern". -Randy |
