when browsing a bin dirt cheap, after all known names (in this case a country bin) THE JOU appears! I just had to buy it! I bought a lot of stuff that was just ordinary as well, but THE JOU I think is very nice garage rock sounding LOVE with a slight dash of 13th floor elevators in parts, but then I don't know much about US teenager psych rock culture from these years http://www.bellybongo.com/45s/thejou/1.jpg Copper State CSR-1081 (USA, Tucson, AZ, year unknown) Side A |

More psyched freaky one man band stuff, now from a woman in New York, early 70s DIANE RICHARDS - IN THE NAME OF LOVE Private press DLF 1001, (USA, New York, early 1970s) I bought this on eBay due to a couple of soundfiles that struck me as haunting and unforgettable, I wanted to hear more, and I was not disappointed! Great and unusual!! The title of this album, "In the Name of Love" was conceived from a deep and long friendship. The theme song was especially composed for Miss Diane by Mr. Tony Regina, who was formerly one of her most brilliant students. (He probably wrote the liner notes... /Bellybongo) The rich collections of love songs contained within this grouping aptly implied by the title, enhances your imagination and stirs your emotions. It is with deepest sincerity that Diane humbly dedicates "In the Name of Love" to all her friends, old and new In the Name of Love http://www.bellybongo.com/diane.html [ Edited by: bellybongo 2007-01-05 07:12 ] |

Female orgasmic moans to percussive exotica inspired by an obscure Japanese movie from -69 SEX AND LIFE, cool and strange sounds, whole LP is in this style. I can't find any information, so please email me if you know who the performers are etc. Tracks picked from side B |

PSYCHEDELIC SOUNDS OF THE THE FAMOUS CASANOVAS From Bahamas comes this LP pressed in 1976, a few years after the Psychedelic years, music probably done earlier though, it's organ driven Latin Lounge Psych, some faint vocals. Label is Recording Artists, RA, but the logotype looks more like IA, so not only the LP title echo the legendary LP by The 13th Floor Elevators. (Maybe there is a "Bull Of The Woods" LP from Sri Lanka as well? I would like that!). |

GIL SIMONETTI - PRESENTS YOUR FAVORITES Strange record I found in a used book store in Sandviken (Sweden), the town next to mine, how did it get there? It was sealed when I bought it. Anyway, here's a singing organist with truly intense feel for his material. Great record and a personal favorite! side 1

MOSES JOSIAH - PLAYS THE SANDVIK MUSICAL SAW Sandviken is the town next to mine, I go there once a week and visit record stores and fleamarkets, the dominant industry in Sandviken is Sandvik, manufacturer of iron merchandise. The fantastic EP I share today was a promotional Christmas greeting to international sellers in 1963. Moses Josiah from British Guyana play three tracks on the Sandvik musical saw, the sound reminds me of the eerie Theremin often found in 1950s Science Fiction movies, and later films like Tim Burton's Ed Wood. The other side has a greeting from Ingemar Gustavsson, Sandvik, in five different languages. Find your own copy in Montevideo, Kobe, Hamburg or Enköping... I mean, this is probably as easy/tough to find anywhere. Wonderful beautiful vintage stuff! side 1

A compilation I have made during the last days while reading William Willis, won't be up long, lots of rare great tracks, but not much exotica... April 3).. As I wait for the summer I hereby upload tracks from LPs recently traded with great guy Douglas Macgowan, and a 45 I bought in Falun on a fleamarket. Nice lounge tracks from a land far away called Past April 5).. As I wait for the summer I hereby add: Track 5-9 is from two Capitol Hi-"Q" soundtrack/library LPs that I won on ebay some year ago, the Capitol Hi-"Q" series were often used by Russ Meyer, George Romero and many other fantastic independent filmmakers in the 60s/70s, dramatic stuff indeed. Then follow two recent Swedish LP finds, a groovy exotica track "Tabu" with lounge group Curt Frost and a wacky organ jazz track by a miniature big band led by Lennart Sandevärn. I am ending this update with a vocal track by the always reliable Arthur Nakane & his one man band April 6)... As I wait I add my favorite lounge singer James Strilich, the groovy Nino Tempo and April Stevens, a German greeting from Ash Ra Temple and side B of Aage side 1

Hi, Is anyone who downloaded it willing to re-upload the Diane Richards LP ("In the Name of Love") that's mentioned above? I heard "Blue Skies" off that album recently, and I'm dying to hear more. Unfortunately, the old link no longer works... Thank ya kindly, |
