I'm a tad confused about where to post this -- I'm just looking for some guidance. I want very much to purchase a Tiki statue for my garden, maybe 3 to 5 feet high (easy to move when hurricanes threaten). I'm not quite happy with those I've seen on eBay and on the side of the road in SW Florida -- too cartoonish and not traditional Polynesian style. Can anyone recommend a source? Maybe a carver right here at TC who retails his work? Thanks! |

I think I can figure out where she lives. DUH! Peg, if you want the original Florida tiki, try http://www.maitiki.com/ Otherwise, browse through the Creating Tiki thread, where there are a number of carvers you might like. |

And of course, how could I forget! Our own Benzart! If you want a superior product in a traditional style, he's your man. |

Hey this is such an easy question to answer. One of the best carvers in the universe and a terrific guy, well known to all TC'ers lives in Florida. His carving name is Benzart. He is carving a 14" tiki for us right now but he has carved tikis that were huge. You can find his thread on TC or his web page just by typing his name. I'm sure you could work out one in your price range. He is capable of carving any style and in whatever range of detail you desire. In December he will have mugs coming out by Tiki Farm that represent two of his signature styles. He just gave a carving seminar in California that was very successful. Good luck in your search, Wendy |

does anyone have a suggestion for something similar but for my (small) garden in the UK? i don't have a car, so a UK based, not very expensinve mail-order tiki statue would be splendid.... does such a thing exist? |
