In an earlier post, I had suspected that Spector's cocktail choice of that evening would have been a Gun Club. :D  [ Edited by: bigbrotiki 2007-05-15 10:52 ] |

Wasn't Navy Grog Nixon's favorite cocktail, there must be something in that drink. |

Lol, I missed court TV but if anyone did see it, please write about it. My friend watched it, they had the manager from Trader Vic's on the stand for quite some time.
I spotted these shot gun shell mugs on the TVL bar the other night. Maybe they already offer a Phil Grog ,(Navy Grog with a shot of grenadine, that would make it weird) I wonder if anyone heard Spector saying something like " Shhhh, Be veweee quiet" [ Edited by: Ojaitimo 2007-05-16 08:50 ] |

In news Under questioning by Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson, Sullivan testified "What's that for?" Sullivan asked Spector, according to her testimony. "Protection," was his response, Sullivan said. She also told the court that she found Spector's appearance that morning somewhat comical. "He looked like Elmer Fudd," she said, causing some jurors to laugh. Last Thursday, Sullivan testified she accompanied Spector on Feb. 3, 2003, to Trader Vic's in Beverly Hills, Dan Tana's in Los Angeles and finally the House of Blues in West Hollywood, where Spector and Clarkson met for the first time. Sullivan testified Spector consumed alcohol in her presence, but said she wasn't paying close attention to how much. Receipts presented to the jury showed Spector ordered two daiquiris at The Grill, two Navy Grogs -- a rum-heavy drink -- at Trader Vic's and two more daiquiris at Dan Tana's before ordering a Bacardi 151 rum drink at the House of Blues. Jurors today also heard from Chai Rojana, the general manager at Trader Vic's who explained what Spector's receipt that night said. Ming Fong Chu, a Trader Vic's bartender testified that the Navy Grog is a strong drink comprised of three shots of rum. Well that makes it clear now. Like I said, Only Mai Tais for me. No Navy Grog , daiqiris or 151 drinks at the House of Blues. [ Edited by: Ojaitimo 2007-05-16 12:17 ] |

Phil should've just gotten a room at the hotel - he could have let the hotel security offer protection - and maybe a hair sylist as well - and maybe his game might have been more tight. |

Sounds more like Yosemitie Sam than Elmer Fudd doen't it? Stories of Phil Spector's gunplay mounted over the years, including his discharging a firearm while in the studio with John Lennon during the recording of his cover album Rock 'n' Roll, placing a loaded pistol at Leonard Cohen's head during the sessions for Death of a Ladies' Man, and forcing Dee Dee Ramone to play bass guitar to Spector's specifications at gunpoint. Cohen told "Rolling Stone" magazine in 1978 that "Phil couldn't resist annihilating me. I don't think he can tolerate any other shadows in his darkness." The Ramones reportedly had to play the opening chord to the song "Rock and Roll High School" for eight hours straight; Years later, Johnny Ramone described Spector as "a little man with lifts in his shoes, the wig on top of his head and four guns." But he also described the session philosophically: "It was a positive learning experience. And that chord does sound really good." Marky Ramone said, "A lot of these things were overblown, and a lot of these things were alcohol-induced." [ Edited by: Ojaitimo 2007-06-19 10:50 ] |

i've been watching this trial from the start. hung 10-2 in favor of conviction. at least there will be a civil trial. Phil reportedly spent 11 mil on lawyers this time.. plus he has an expensive and spoiled Child Bride. hopefully she will make his life a living hell. my favorite blogs are and most interesting is Phil's former assistant's blog |
